How to create Game Boy Game Genie codes

Hi ^^ I noticed you weren't sure how to make Game Genie codes on X. Basically all you need to do is convert the offset into a two byte pointer (which is really just subtract $4000 until it ranges between 0000-7FFF, if unsure you can use a Game Boy pointer calculator but make sure the last two digits match the offset). Then on BGB cheat, you can generate codes automatically by adjusting the numbers in the "internal values" section. So for offset $C11F, you subtract $4000 until you get $411F, then enter in internal values address: 411F new value: 00 (what you want your code to set) old value: 20 (what byte the offset originally contained). Hope this may be useful. :) Torchickens (talk) 01:21, 1 February 2021 (UTC)

Ah, thank you! I've been working hard on a disassembly of X so i'm used to the banked pointers, i just didn't know BGB could generate these cheats for me. Cheers! 2Tie (talk) 03:34, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
You're welcome, glad this helped! ^^ Yeah, I used to use an online Game Genie generator and didn't realise BGB could generate them until later, too. Torchickens (talk) 04:13, 1 February 2021 (UTC)
