Chicken Run Proto Pages

Hey, I noticed you've been documenting a couple Chicken Run PS1 prototypes. However, the prototypes in question have not been released (Chicken Run PS1 Jan 18 2000 and Feb 09 2000). Documenting prototypes that haven't been publicly released is against the rules of the site, so I would advise that, while the prototypes are not released, those pages can't continue to stay up where they are. If they have been made public elsewhere, could you provide a link to the builds? Thanks. --Escape209 (talk) 12:09, 5 May 2024 (UTC)

The builds will be released soon. There have been a few delays, but the reason for this is that there's over 100GB of development data getting released, including full source code backups, early versions of the Chicken Run movie, etc.

There's multiple people working on this, from people who did data recovery on magnetic tape backups (involving writing custom drivers & reverse engineering tape data formats & writing tools to convert to .zip files), to others who rendered audio projects, to myself, who is documenting the unused content on TCRF.

Due to the scale of this project, we'd really like to release everything together as a single release. Because there are real delays for why it's not been released yet (Currently the tape extraction software is getting updated daily, but also some paper scans are still remaining too.), we'd still like to make progress on documenting the unused content. If this means sharing the data with a TCRF moderator to validate authenticity or whatnot, that is OK. We just aren't ready yet for the full release, but still want to be able to document the early/unused content.

In terms of a full release, we tentatively are looking for sometime this May, but we're already past our initial release timeframes anyways. If it helps, we're working with the Hidden Palace admins to do this release.--Hell Inspector (talk) 02:04, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
