Zooming

There are two map views: overview and zoom. Toggle between them with R or by tapping the icon. There are two map sizes: Overview and Zoom. Toggle between the views with the R Button or by tapping the icon. Select the best view for the conditions.

Unit Deployment

US Europe
Select the unit you want to deploy, then where you want it to go. Options sometimes appear after a unit moves. Select the unit you want to deploy and where you want to move it to in the area displayed. Options sometimes appear for units to perform actions after moving.

Ending a Day

US Europe
You and your enemy will take turns moving your units. Select End Turn from the menu to finish your forces' moves for the day. During battles, you will take it in turns with your opponent to move your units. Select End Turn from the Menu to finish your force's manoeuvres for that day.

Direct Attacks

US Europe
To perform a direct attack, move your unit next to an enemy unit and choose Fire. If an enemy unit is within the range of movement of your unit or an enemy moves to a square adjacent to your unit, you can attack that enemy unit.

Leveling Up Units/Levelling Up Units

If you defeat an enemy unit, the winning unit's level will rise, increasing its attack and defense. A single unit can rise 3 levels. Defeat an enemy unit, and your unit's level will go up, increasing attack and defence abilities. *Maximum level=3

Tactics

US Europe
Open the menu, select Mission Info, then choose the Tactics option to receive strategy for the current battle. Select Mission from the Menu, and choose the Tactics option. You'll get useful advice there.

Ammunition/Main Weapon Ammunition

Most units have main weapons that can run out of ammo. Keep an eye on the ammo indicator. Some units are equipped with powerful main weapons. But be careful to resupply before ammo runs out! Keep an eye on the ammo indicator...

Indirect Attacks

US Europe
Indirect-attack units can fire over long distances without facing a counter-attack, but they cannot move and attack in the same turn. Unlike direct attacks, indirect attacks must be launched before moving the unit. Indirect attack units can fire over long distances without facing enemy attacks.

Attack Range/Strike Range

US Europe
To see a unit's attack range, choose it and hold down B, or touch the unit and hold down the stylus. You can also view enemy attack ranges. Select a unit and hold down B or touch the unit to see its full attack range, including after it has moved. You can also view enemy units' attack ranges.

Terrain Effects

US Europe
Use map info to see features and defenses offered by different terrain. The more stars on the gauge, the more protection it provides. Check Map Info to see the features and defence offered to your units by different terrains. The more stars on the gauge, the safer it is for your units.

Fuel

US Europe
Though rare, it is possible for a unit to run out of fuel. Units can refuel at any friendly city or base. It is rare for fuel to run out, but in a long battle it can become a problem and units can grind to a halt. Remember to refuel at your bases.

Unit Chart

US Europe
Select Mission Info from the menu and choose Chart to display all of your units. Use this chart to help plan your strategy. Select Mission from the Menu and choose Chart to display all of the units you have deployed. Consulting the chart is useful when considering your strategy.

Terms

US Europe
Select Terms from the menu to view victory conditions. These conditions vary by map. Select Terms from the Mission Menu to check conditions for victory. Wipe out all enemy units, capture the HQ-and there can be other objectives...

Joining/Joining Forces

US Europe
By combining 2 damaged units, you can create a single unit with more HP. If 2 units with different levels join, the highest level will be kept. By combining units, you can restore the maximum 10 HP to damaged units. When joining two units with different levels, the highest level will be retained.

Fog of War

US Europe
Thick, black dust makes it impossible to see enemies from a distance. Units hiding in woods or rubble can only be seen from an adjacent square. Thick black dust makes locating enemies impossible until you are near them. Units hiding in Woods or Ruins can only be seen when adjacent.

Flare Rockets

US Europe
Flares are designed for Fog of War conditions. Their rockets clear the fog and help your forces see. Flare rocket launching vehicles are not chiefly built for attack, but for Fog of War conditions. Their flares increase the range of vision of your forces.
