In Soccer Pocket 2, Japan was the only licensed team with real player surnames. To avoid paying the license fees for the international versions too, Konami removed it and replaced it with the United Arab Emirates.

The generic "A", "B" and "C" referees were given names (Hase, Heinz and Carlos).

In the Japanese version, Soccer Pocket 2, the sideline banners advertise Adidas. The international version, ISS, has two sets of banners that change during the match: first with Umbro and Konami, second with Umbro and Major Production.
