Left 4 Dead 2/Unused Levels

The levels in Left 4 Dead 2 have quite a few secrets in them that intrepid explorers have found. This page documents them!

Unused Levels

c5m1_waterfront_sndscape

This unused level combined the Waterfront and Park levels of The Parish campaign into one level along with a number of differences.

tutorial_standards

An example level created as part of a tutorial for the Left 4 Dead editing tools. The custom campaign Dead Line also features this as a second level, but is modified in the latter for its features.

curling_stadium

A level that can be found among the map names after typing "maps" into the console. When loaded, it loads up a small stadium complete with stands and rafters, along with curling lanes.

tutorial_standards_vs

The same as tutorial_standards, but the only difference here is that it's a map for Versus Mode.

Unused Level Features

There are some parts of levels that can only be seen by noclipping around.

Tunnel in a Tunnel

In the Tunnel of Love, there is another path that is blocked off by a gate, but is complete up to a point.

Unused Room

During the chapter The Barns of Dark Carnival, there is a room that can only be accessed by noclipping, since there is no way of entering it normally. The room may have been removed late in development, due to the ease of entering it and since items like pills can spawn inside.
