Hidden Messages

Programmer complaint

At $1cf8e in the main game executable !logical, a hidden developer message appears:

Dieses Programm ist in GFA-Basic 3.51D Amiga geschrieben.
Ich habe nur eine Lehre daraus gezogen: NEVERMORE!
In reinem Assembler programmiert wäre es fast ein halbes Jahr früher fertig geworden.
GFA-Basic ist ein einziger Bug!

This translates roughly to:

This program is written in GFA-Basic 3.51D Amiga.
The only lesson I've learned from that: NEVERMORE!
In pure assembler, this would have been finished almost half a year earlier.
GFA-Basic is one single bug!

Apparently, GFA Basic was not very pleasant to work with. The message was presumably left by the Amiga version's programmer, Volker Eloesser.

Title screen art

Hansi ist doof.png

The file between.raw, used for the title screen graphics, includes yellow text which says "Hansi ist doof" ("Hans is stupid"). It's unclear who Hans is. The message was presumably left by the game's graphic designer Hakan Akbiyik. After this game, he went on to work as programmer on Dungeons of Avalon.

Other

As can be seen when unpacking the disk image, the game executable is called !logical (read as: NOT logical). This might be a in-joke by the developers.
