Hmmm...
To do:
  • There are some more unused graphics, mostly basic shapes and stuff.
  • Find out the purpose of the debug graphics(?)
  • There are a few unused animations, a few of them are Regent leftovers, but some of them seem brand new

Madness Accelerant is a shot-for-shot remake of Madness Combat 7: Consternation, created by Tom Fulp himself!

Unused Animations

Blood

Some crudely drawn flowing blood (Click to animate).

Grunt Punching

MA punchup.gif

An animation of a Grunt punching upwards, rapidly cycling between all the different types of enemies.

Grunt Dancing

MA dance.gif

An animation of a Grunt dancing, leftover from Madness Regent. Again, this cycles between all the different enemy types, as they share most of the same files.

Grunt Dancing Again

MA dancegif.gif

A Grunt dancing in a different way. This one isn't used in Accelerant or Regent.

Sparks

MA sparks.gif

Some sparks leftover from Regent, which were emitted from the cut Welder Grunt.

Obscured Graphics

Preloader

MA preloader.png

The game's preloader is way larger than it probably has to be.

Building Backside

MA 1090.png

The building seen after Tricky punts the player away has a backside that cannot be seen in-game.

Hank's Bandages

MA bandages.png

Most of Hank's bandages are covered up by his bandanna and mask.

MAG Agent: Torture's Head

MA maghead.png

MAG Agent: Torture's glasses hide some details on his face that cannot be seen.

Broken Walls

MA 1770.jpg MA 1782.jpg

The graphics of the walls Tricky breaks through have more than the player can see, due to Tricky himself covering them.

Unused Location

Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Could it be possible to load this map in-game somehow?

In the files of the game, there appears to be a simplistic map that only consists of a grey box, with a black square as a background. Judging by the debug icons around it, it's possible that this was used in the game at some point, most likely for testing purposes. This map also exists in Madness Hydraulic.

Hidden Map Graphics

In the full graphics for the maps, some debugging graphics can be seen either offscreen or disabled in-game. Interestingly, judging by some of the debug graphic locations, it would seem that the areas found in this game were directly built off the areas found in Madness Regent!

Oddly enough, all of these maps seem to have a duplicate located right next to each other in the files.

Unused Text

General

medal name

Placeholder text for the medal names.

Madness Regent Leftovers

AND SO THEY DANCED...

This shows up at the ending of Madness Regent, when at the end of this game, besides the credits, no such text comes up.

JEBUS

This text shows up nowhere in the game, but it does show up in Madness Regent... technically. This can be seen far offscreen in the third and fifth rooms of the game. Given the location of this text in Madness Regent, it's likely this was used to mark when and where the event with Jebus turning the dead Agents into zombies happens.

Revisional Differences

  • September 23rd, 2009 - Fixed unspecified bugs relating to the final boss.
  • September 24th, 2009 - Gave the player the ability to shoot enemies in the air while on the ground, as well as make said enemies jump in the air less.
  • September 29th, 2009 - Fixed a bug relating to agents in the doorway, and added the ability to swap weapons using the D key. Also added the ability to refill ammo by going over a weapon you already have.
  • September 30th, 2009 - Added the option to use the mouse to aim, instead of the arrow keys.
  • October 1st, 2009 - Added Madness Mode, a harder difficulty that is unlocked after beating the game on Normal Mode.

Internal Name

The game is referred to as 'hank2009', according to its .swf file.
