Prerelease:Dino Crisis (PlayStation)
This page details pre-release information and/or media for Dino Crisis (PlayStation).
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article? |
To do: More Magazine scans, videos, etc. and also final comparison shot. |
Contents
Sourcenext Version Manual
An early version of the Keychip item.
Magazines
JoyPad #087
Pre-release | Final |
---|---|
Different camera angle in the Carrying Out Room B1 area. Also notice how the crane panel is missing its transparency between the cards. The "PROGRAM" text is in the top-center of the screen instead of being in the top-left corner.
JoyPad #088 Extra
From the Resident Evil extra of French magazine JoyPad #088.
Pre-release | Final |

In the screenshot of the elevator hall, the corpse of Paul Baker is missing and the camera angle differs. It is possible to get the same camera angle in the final version but not from this position, only when standing on the other side of the display panel.
Pre-release | Final |

The two chairs can not be seen on this angle in the final version because their backs were made smaller.
In the final the second chair is overturned on the floor, whereas it is not in the pre-release screenshot.
Pre-release | Final |
---|---|
The floor map is missing on the wall. Note that the player can't "pick-up" the map, in the final version it remains on the wall even after being copied. A version of this room that uses the early board texture actually made it to the final game, though only in the cutscene when the player meets Kirk for the first time.
Console Max #02
A preview from French magazine Console Max #02, July/August 1999. The same version as in the Joypad preview seems to be used, as made evident by the absence of the corpse in the 1F Elevator Room and of the map in the Main Hall B1 room. On pages 21 and 23, some of the screenshots involving the T-Rex bursting through the window of the 2F Head Office use camera angles not present in the final version.
Videos
IGN
An uncensored version of the end of the intro FMV of the game, provided to the press. The T-Rex can be seen throwing Cooper away at the end of the video, this bit was cut in the final version of the game and does not appear in any version of the game or on the 5th Anniversary DVD.
Biohazard 3: Last Escape
This trailer can be viewed in the PlayStation version of Biohazard 3: Last Escape, the Japanese version of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. It is located in the option sub-menu of the title screen.
