E3 2004 Trailer
The trailer shown at E3 2004 was released on November 1, 2004 as a .wmv file and later uploaded to YouTube. In trailer, the game is seemingly close to it's release with minor differences in it.
Differences
- Eli is seen wearing a Yale shirt instead of a Harvard shirt:

In final release, the shirt was changed.
Weapons
- The shotgun (seen near the end) is based off of the beta shotgun. It can still be found in the game files as v_shotgun_dx7, albeit without textures:

- The rebels don't have their own models.
- Instead of the Citadel, the outro shows the train station.
- The firing sound of the Gravity Gun's is higher pitch, just like in the demo at E3 2003 and the September 26th, 2003 prototype.
- The alignment of the health indicator is different when under 100 health.
- The shotgun and crossbow are in the third weapon slot; they were moved to the fourth in the final game.
- The player entity ragdolls upon death (and seems to use a Citizen as a placeholder), but in the final game, there is no ragdolling,
- Scanners seem to still use their 2003 AI code in the trailer,
- Striders seem to not have all animations of being hitted by RPG Rockets.
