Prerelease:WarioWare: Touched!
This page details pre-release information and/or media for WarioWare: Touched!.
WarioWare: Touched! had a few pre-release builds shown off at events prior to its launch, but being a simple game there aren't many differences.

|
E3 2004
To do: Regional differences that are not yet implemented in this English version. For example, the fireworks microgame. |
On May 11, 2004 the game appeared at E3. Some of the released footage depicts an earlier build than the one playable. Both builds are of an early English translation, but the earlier build actually has a visible translation difference from the other one shown.
- At the time, the game was known as WarioWare, Inc. DS.
- In the earlier build, there are no borders around the microgames.
- In the earlier build, the English text does not yet use a Variable-Width Font. Additionally, this and the translation were actually already improved in the playable build at E3.
Earlier Pre-release | Later Pre-release | Final |
---|---|---|
- In the earlier build, all games play one early track (a remixed version of the music from the Fill in the Blanks microgame in WarioWare: Twisted!) at various tempos.
- Some games reuse music from WarioWare: Twisted!, while others have entirely unused music.
- There is a red cursor shown on-screen when the player uses the stylus. This is similar to the white glove cursor available in the debug menu, still in most retail versions.
- There is a different title screen, and a different title.

- This playable build features a timer which started at 20 seconds and would count down to 0 at which it would stop, turn the border red, and display: "TIME UP!" This could have been derivative of the WarioWatch mode from WarioWare: Twisted! or just a way to limit the play time of the E3 attendees.
- This build also features a cutscene of Wario throwing and breaking through boxes. In the final game's cutscenes, Wario instead drives his bike on a road.
Seattle Nintendo Conference
In October 2004, the game appeared at a press conference in Seattle. This build is of the Japanese version.
- The cutscene that plays between microgames is similar to the one that appears when you are playing a microgame in the Album. In the final version the background changes from blue to yellow to red, but in this pre-release version it stays blue.

- In the pre-release version, the jingles that play during said cutscenes are those belonging to Dr. Crygor's stage "Slightly Unscrewed". Interestingly, these are also the default jingles of several unused cutscenes in the final version. The jingles that play in the final game's said cutscenes are those belonging to Wario's stage "Touch Training".
- In this version there are music differences such as the microgame "Pet Peeved" using a different theme and some missing sounds
