Cut Graphics
Instruments
Several music sequencer instruments were cut.
Bonobo Music Icon
A music icon for a song referred to as "Bonobo" can be found with the rest of the music icons. Because of the yellow border, it can be assumed that the track was a fixed track instead of an interactive one. The icon is used on a track in one of the unused levels, Defend the Centre, but the files associated with the song were completely wiped from the game.
Miscellaneous
boss_wip_cutscene_sticker_01.tex is an in-game photo of Victoria that would be used for this build's boss battle.
paint_palette_advanced_pixel.tex is an early palette for the paint tool.
Other
Early Basic Glass Diffuse
The diffuse texture for a version of basic glass from early builds of LittleBigPlanet can be found in gamedata/texture_library/glass/glass_cracked_diffuse.tex/. Although an icon exists in the original game, LittleBigPlanet, the diffuse texture is nowhere to be found.
Audio
Changed Audio
Music
Happy Happy Land IntMusic
While most of the music has minor compression changes between the early and the final, two of the sliders from the Happy Happy Land IntMusic are composed differently.

Gibberish Voices
A few of the gibberish voices are different in comparison to the final.
Steakhouse
Steakhouse's voice in this build is just a lower pitched version of Stephen the Beatnik's.

Garibald Mossrock
Garibald Mossrock's voice is different and sounds more commanding.

Cakeling
The Cakeling uses a very different, much more menacing gibberish voice in this build. It sounds similar to the other gibberish voices, which may be a remnant from the original storyline where it was supposed to be one of the removed Stitchling characters that got fused with a cake.

Unused Audio
Guy Sounds
Some sounds exist for "Good Guy" and "Bad Guy", most likely intended for use with the removed Stitchlings.
Audio | Description |
---|---|
Sounds for a bad guy dying. | |
Sounds for a bad guy laughing. | |
Sounds for a good guy dying. | |
Sounds for a good guy exclaiming. |
Unused Instrument
In the files of the beta, there is a item file for a cut banjo object, which is located at gamedata/lbp2/dlc/move/palettes/instr_instrument_plucked_banjo.plan, it is completely functional and can be used in a music sequencer, it uses the audio sample of the bass guitar.
Cut song
Hidden inside one of the story levels is a completely cut song that did not make it into this build's levels or even the final game, it sounds nothing like any other music sequencer in the pack and also used the removed maracas instrument, which, unfortunately, had all of its data wiped from the build.
Move Handle Powerup
To do: Try to get the move handle's script working. |
An unused powerup can be found in the files referred to as the "Move Handle", strangely, the model for the handle can be seen on the Brain Crane's powerup pedestal, but the model is so tiny that it's practically invisible unless viewed with a zoomed in camera.
The following can be found in the general and translation files related to it:
Files
movehandle.ff (Script) move_handle.gmat (Gfx Material) move_handle.mol (Model) obj_move_handle.plan (Move Handle Object Popit savedata)
Translation File
Move Handle Handle sackboy holds to whack stuff Move Handle Object The object that spins above the move handle powerup
The "Move Handle Object" has a plan file, but unfortunately it's only the decorative part that would be spinning above the wooden pedestal that you collect the powerup from.
Unused Levels
To do: The main move story levels also have some differences from the final version. |
Defend the Centre
gamedata/lbp2/dlc/move/levels/side_defend_the_centre/side_defend_the_centre.bin is an unused minigame where you have to defend a bunch of Sackbots clustered as a group in the dark from approaching enemies. It uses a song that which isn't present in this build, so it's silent during gameplay.
The following lines of dialogue can be found in the level:
Defend the Sackbots against waves of enemies. If the Sackbots are grabbed, they will be dragged away! Protect them as long as you can.
Manipulator Versus
gamedata/lbp2/dlc/move/levels/side_manipulator_versus/side_manipulator_versus.bin is an unused competitive minigame where players have to feed a fat man some vegetables, and score points based on the amount of vegetables they put in his bowl. It uses an early version of the sequenced song "Axolotl Shuffle" that has missing instruments.
The following lines of dialogue can be found in the level:
Pull out these vegtables with your Manipulator and put 'em in my bowl for me to eat!
Unused Background
An early test version of the Move Pack's background can be found in gamedata/lbp2/dlc/move/palettes/env_move_background.plan. It uses a piece of concept art as a backdrop and some tables from the LittleBigPlanet 2 Tutorial background as the floor. All of the metadata, the icon, lighting, and ambience are all copied over from the Da Vinci's Hideout background.
LittleBigPlanet 2 Beta leftovers
Several remnants from the LittleBigPlanet 2 beta can still be found in the files, including an item for an alarm clock featured in one of the tutorial levels.
Unused Text
Within the translation files, some unused text is present for items that don't exist in this build, which implies the Move Beta is a branch of an existing build.
Surreal Costume Piece
The costume piece for the surreal boy costume is listed as Surreal Clock Face instead of Surreal Frame like the final, implying an earlier design was modeled. Some early concept art reveals that the costume was intended to have a melting clock covering the face and moustache like Salvador Dali.
Surreal Clock Face
Move Handle
Various parts of the files mention a removed powerup called the Move Handle, which would have been an early version of the Brain Crane. Based on the description, it's used to whack things around.
Move Handle Handle sackboy holds to whack stuff Move Handle Object The object that spins above the move handle powerup

Final Fantasy Costume Pack differences
The renders used for the Final Fantasy 7 Costume Pack have minor differences compared to the final release, such as characters using different eye models, to characters being in completely different poses. These changes are also reflected in the costumes themselves.
