This is a sub-page of Proto:Unreal Tournament (PC, 1999)/Version 222.

Aggressiveness

Bots are a bit more aggressive than they are in the final game. They'll happily charge people with the Enforcer instead of preferring to look for guns first, like in the final game.

Auto Turrets

A team of bots attacking a turret in AS-Overlord.

Bots will eagerly attack turrets in this build. However, since turrets cannot be destroyed, the entire team will be slowly picked off by the turrets. This makes certain Assault maps, such as AS-Overlord, impossible for bots to win on their own because they prefer to attack and be killed by invincible turrets than complete objectives.

Assault

Speaking of Assault, the bots are pretty bad at Assault in this build. They seem much more interested in attacking players than actually completing objectives. In some cases, they'll ignore doing an objective so that they can kill someone.

Bot stats editing

Bot stats, such as their accuracy, cannot be edited in-game in this build. They can still be edited in unrealtournament.ini, though.

Bot roster counter

This prototype has only 15 bots defined. The final game boosts it to 32, presumably so that the player has a more varied amount of bots they can play with when they select “Randomize Order”.

Bot profiles

Several of the default bots are different from how they are in the final game.

Archon

Archon is on the red team in this build, but is not a member of any team in the final game.

Alarik

Alarik is almost exactly the same as he is in the fianl game. The only difference is that he is on the green team by default in 222, but is affiliated with no team in the final game.

Dessloch

In 222, Dessloch is Cryss, a yellow female Iron Guard. The Cryss name was moved to bot 5, which is documented below.

Cryss

The final Cryss is Ice Weasel, a grey male Dark Phalanax using the Blake face, in 222. The name “Ice Weasel” is used a name for one of the bots the player faces in the single player ladder in both versions of the game.

Nikita

In 222, Nikita's name is Silphe, but she is still a female Necris using the Visse face. The only difference between Nikita and Silphe (besides name, obviously) is that Silphe is on the red team, while Nikita is on the green team.

Drimacus

The 222 Drimacus uses the male Thunder Crash model with the Othello face. The final Drimacus is a member of Raw Steel. However, the 222 Drimacus is exactly like the Drimacus the player faces in the single player ladder.
