Super Mario Galaxy 2/Unused Objects & Actors
This is a sub-page of Super Mario Galaxy 2.
This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
Excluding the many leftover objects from Super Mario Galaxy, there are still a couple more unused objects and actors that are unique to this game.

Unused Objects
WingBlockCoin
A variant of the Winged Question Blocks that spawns a single Coin when hit. The game only uses the variant that spawns eight Star Bits.
TubeSliderTicoCoin
A Comet Medal that is intended to be used on Tube Slides, like the one seen in Tall Trunk Galaxy. Like other slider objects, the game automatically adjusts properties such as its clipping range.
PetitPorterExitPoint
This object can be used to specify the return point for the teleporter challenges. Usually, the game teleports the player back to the teleporter object's actual point in space.
CountFlowerPowerStar
A variant of the CountFlower switch object that spawns a Power Star once its SW_B switch gets activated.
StarCreekWaterfallL
A particle effect that consists of the waterfall splashes of Cosmic Cove's main planet.

CometFireDanceArea
An area that was most likely to be used in a Prankster Comet mission. When Mario enters it, he will always be running, and when performing a jump, will perform a high jump.
CometHopperArea
Another area which was most likely to be used in a Prankster Comet mission. Entering it will give the player the Spring power-up. When the player leaves it, they return to normal.
CometNoSpinArea
Yet another area which was meant to be used in a Prankster Comet mission. Forbids using the spin-attack whenever the player enters the area.
CometRainbowArea
The final area for Prankster Comet missions. Entering it will give the player the Invincible power-up. When the player leaves it, they return back to normal.
PlayerMorphLimitArea
An area that when the player leaves it, its Power-Ups will be lost.
PostOutlineArea
An area that draws outlines around models. Looks cool, but is quite laggy.
