DIP Switches

Upon startup the game checks de,C000 three times to see 00 if the first two bytes are set to 01 then DIP Switches are enabled. The third bit tells what the DIP Switch value is. Enable bits are written to 0x1A0, and 0x1A4. Set value FF to 0x166, or use the Gameshark code 01FF00C0 to enable the Super Game Boy sound test. Alternatively, Game Genie codes 011-A0F-E6A, 011-A4F-E6A, and FF1-66F-E6A will enable the DIP Switches set to FF which will enable all of said features.

DIP Switches can be activated in game by pressing certain button combinations at the Takara logo, However, the SGB Sound Test cannot be enabled. Hold A and B and press select once which will set the DIP Switches to 20. To activate the second set of DIP Switches setting them to 40, hold down A and B while pressing select 10 times. Press Select twice more to set the DIP Switches to 60. Press Select 25 additional times to set the DIP Switches to C0. While letting go A and B, press Select 11 more times to set the DIP Switches to E0. A Game Boy and Super Game Boy sound will confirm correct entry as each DIP Switch is activated.

SGB Sound Test

Japanese exclusives Nettoh Real Bout Special Fatal Fury and Beast Wars contain a sound test allow all of the sound effects used by several Game Boy games, notably The Pagemaster, Animaniacs, PokoNyan Yume no Daibouken, Kirby's Dream Land 2, and others.

Setting 0x166 to 70 will enable the Super Game Boy sound test. Tetris 2 Super Game Boy-enhanced version also has a Super Game Boy sound test hidden in the debug menu, albeit very incomplete. Single-digit ones change the speed and volume of the sound effect when played, ranging from 0-F.

Note: The game MUST be played on a Super Game Boy or in SGB mode for the sound test or border to be enabled.
