Thomas & Friends: Railway Adventures is one of the many licensed Thomas & Friends games from the early 2000s. This one's unique, in that you play it using a big hunk of plastic velcroed to your keyboard. Results may vary.

Alternate Control Scheme

The game has a separate, more traditional control scheme that isn't documented anywhere in-game. It's possible this was used by the developers if they didn't want to keep moving the playset to and from their keyboards all day (as it's not possible for the playset to press these keys, no matter how it's placed).

Region Differences

As is standard for the franchise, the US and European versions of the game have many differences.

Publisher Logos

The intro logo the game starts up with is different to coincide with the different publishers. The US version displays the Infogrames logo (Infogrames.bik) while the European first shows the Smoby Games logo, followed by the Infogrames logo (smoby-infogrames.bik).

Voice Acting

The most major change between the two versions is the difference in voice actors. The European version was voiced by the then-narrator of the show, Michael Angelis. In the US version, they were done by Robin Smith, who did voice-overs for most of the promotional material for the franchise in America at the time.

Credits

Graphics/Intro/credits.txt has some minor differences between the two versions. Mostly to coincide with the changes between publishing companies.

Junction Table

The Local folder has a text document that contains a template for the game's junction table format.

// Default Junction Table.

// 1st value is the name of the junction
// 2nd is direction you're facing, P for positive direction, N for negative
// 3rd is L for left, R for right

// If first two chars are forward slashes '/' then the line is ignored, like this one.
