How do you make a video game based on a cartoon that's all about racing? You turn it into a platformer, of course! (Then again, considering how the Game Boy game turned out...)

Regional Differences

Title Screen

The background on the title screen was changed from blue to red for the international release. The original Japanese title screen reflects its name in that region: チキチキマシン猛レース (Chiki Chiki Machine Ferocious Race), and it was altered to Wacky Races for the international release.

Interestingly, the US version still retains the theme song from the Japanese cartoon for its title and ending music.

Please elaborate.
Having more detail is always a good thing.
  • The time counter in the US version is shorter than the one in the Japanese version.
