And you were just a scroll away from scaring everyone shitless, being fired, and possibly being arrested too...
Oh wow. Sometimes, you have no idea how morbid the things in these pages can be.
This page contains content that is not safe for life, whether it be you or anyone in proximity to you.
Such as: Nudity, gore, and body horror.
This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

Fear & Hunger 2: Termina is a survival-horror turn-based RPG, and the sequel to Fear & Hunger. 14 people are trapped in the war-torn town of Prehevil, and forced into a battle royale in the name of the Termina festival. The game's presentation and polish are a clear step up from the first game, and while it appears very different on the surface, the echo of the first game's events are still felt...

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Revisional differences
  • A page covering the game's demo
  • A "Bugs" page may be warranted.

Unused Graphics
I'm seein' visions, doc!

Fear & Hunger 1 Leftovers

While it might sound obvious to say, Fear & Hunger 2: Termina is quite literally built off the foundation of Fear & Hunger 1, and as such there are countless leftover items, graphics, and skills, including those that were either partially or completely overwritten. Notable examples include but are not limited to:

  • Levi directly overwrites a majority of Cahara's assets, to the point that he still uses the "MERCENARY_SELECT" switch to designate him as main character.
  • The body parts of the Guard from Fear & Hunger 1 are still in the data as unused Enemies. The Woodsman's body parts come directly after, and it's highly likely that the Guard was directly used as a base for him.
  • Many, many Switches, Variables, and Common Events are left over from Fear & Hunger 1.

Unused Items

Because of the large amount of leftovers from Fear & Hunger 1, this section focuses on unused items that are new to Fear & Hunger 2, or Fear & Hunger 1 items that were updated in some way but are still unused.

Large Icon Small Icon Name Description Notes
F&H2-icon skull mask.png F&H2-icon skull mask small.png 99 eyes mask A mysterious skull mask from a faraway continent of Vinland. The mask is said to raise one's perception.
Slash 89% Pierce 89% Blunt 89%
Intended to drop from Rancid the Sergal after his second encounter without destroying the mask in-battle. However, due to the head always being destroyed due to how the game handles clearing enemy body parts when killed, it is unobtainable.
F&H2-icon collar shirt.png F&H2-icon collar shirt small.png Rugged vest A simple yet stylish vest. Offers very little protection, but it truly is stylish.
Otherworldly 92%
Very similar to the used Silk vest armor, however, despite the description claiming it reduces Otherworldly damage taken to 92%, it actually reduces it to 95%.
F&H2-icon soul stone.png F&H2-icon soul stone small.png Soul stone_NOT_USE The surface of the gemstone is smooth yet it seems to be naturally formed. An empty Soul Stone. Using Soul Stones on dead enemies to gain a Lesser Soul from
Fear & Hunger 1 was supplanted by the new system of trading in severed heads to the Tainted One in exchange for Soul Stone Shards.
F&H2-icon purplevial.png F&H2-icon purplevial small.png Purple vial A vial full of purple colored liquid. Slowly working, but potent poison. Purple vials were used in Fear & Hunger 1, but cannot be found in Termina. Likely due to being made redundant with the abundance of Poison hemlock.
F&H2-icon orangevial.png F&H2-icon orangevial small.png Worm juice A vial full of mild poison that is said to kill parasites and worms inside the host body. Used in Fear & Hunger 1 to cure Intestinal Parasites and Brain Flower, neither of which are present in Termina.
F&H2-icon redvial.png F&H2-icon redvial small.png Red vial A vial full of red colored liquid. Highly corrosive. Can be used to melt certain objects. Used in Fear & Hunger 1 to melt locks on doors without using a Small Key or Lockpicking, or to inflict Blindness on an enemy. Glass Shards fulfill the purpose of blinding enemies in Termina.
F&H2-icon greenvial.png F&H2-icon greenvial small.png Green vial A vial full of green colored liquid. Just the smell makes your muscles contract and heightens your senses. Used in Fear & Hunger 1 to apply the Evasion Buff status.
F&H2-icon blackvial.png F&H2-icon whitevial small.png Explosive vial A vial full of explosive liquids. Can be used to clear cave-ins or other rocks and rubble. Used in Fear & Hunger 1 to open passageways and deal damage to enemies. Replaced by Pipe Bombs for the purposes of damaging enemies.
F&H2-icon burlap sack.png F&H2-icon burlap sack small.png Pillarman's head The severed head of a moonscorched villager. The skin seems burned in an unusual way. In-game, attempting to saw off a Pillarman's head will simply break the Bone Saw.
F&H2-icon burlap sack.png F&H2-icon burlap sack small.png Head of the Tormented one The severed head of a moonscorched villager. The skin seems burned in an unusual way. Attempting to saw off the Tormented One's head will simply yield the message
"Just as you saw the head off, it turns to dust..."
F&H2-icon burlap sack.png F&H2-icon burlap sack small.png Per'kele's head The severed head of the Per'kele. As soon as Per'kele is defeated, the game will either end or the player will fight Rher immediately after.
F&H2-icon burlap sack.png F&H2-icon burlap sack small.png Kaiser's head The severed head of the Kaiser. Kaiser melts away after he's defeated and thus leaves no corpse to interact with.
F&H2-icon burlap sack.png F&H2-icon burlap sack small.png Head of the Heartless one The severed head of the Heartless one. The Heartless One disappears after she's defeated and thus leaves no corpse to interact with.
F&H2-icon burlap sack.png F&H2-icon burlap sack small.png Meat grinder head The severed head of the meat grinder. Sawing off the Meat Grinder's head will yield a Half-cocooned head instead.
F&H2-icon schematics small.png Weapon schematics Schematics for custom weaponry. Replaced by Abella's Weaponcraft skill.
F&H2-icon schematics small.png Trap schematics Schematics for custom traps. Replaced by Abella's Trapcraft skill.
F&H2-icon schematics small.png Explosive schematics Schematics for explosives Replaced by Caligura's Explosives skill.
F&H2-icon schematics small.png Recipes of the 15th Century vol.1 Schematics for custom foods. Different from the updated, used versions of the Recipes of the 15th Century books in both icon and description.
F&H2-icon schematics small.png Recipes of the 15th Century vol.2 Schematics for custom foods. Different from the updated, used versions of the Recipes of the 15th Century books in both icon and description.

Unused Skills

Because of the large amount of leftovers from Fear & Hunger 1, this section focuses on unused skills that are either new to Fear & Hunger 2, or Fear & Hunger 1 skills that were updated in some way but are still unused.

Name Description In-game Effect Notes
Premonitions Flashes images of events that happen during the current day and time slot on-screen.
(Out-of-battle skill, Cost: 2 Mind)
Grouped with O'saa's (Enlightened Soul) "Yellow Mage" skills.
Works without issue if cheated onto a character. This was likely cut due to not accounting for player intervention, e.g. even if you kill a character early, it will still show you the Premonition of their Moonscorched form or them being present in an event.
Pinecone pig Summon the deity of the good luck. The pinecone pig. Grants a random item in-battle, same as the used Pinecone Pig accessory.
(In-battle skill, Cost: 0 Mind)
Possibly solely intended for testing, on account of the 0 Mind cost.
Rugged handsome looks The skill doesn't necessarily translate to everyone. Beauty is in the eye of beholder after all. Nothing Grouped with Tanaka's (Latent Soul) "Salaryman" skills.
Greater blood magic Years spent studying blood magic has given you an ability to use magic more efficiently. Nothing Grouped with Samarie's (Radiating Soul) "Dark Mage Apprentice" skills.
Greater analyze Analyze the enemy behaviour and find the weak points. You can use the acquired information against similar type enemies. Nothing Grouped with Daan's (Blank Soul) "Doctor" skills.
Reverse-healing remove own organs to cause serious damage Nothing Grouped with Daan's (Blank Soul) "Doctor" skills.
Similar in concept to his used Magna-medicinal skill, which sacrifices one of his limbs and 50 Mind to revive a dead party member in-battle. While you can harvest organs from enemies to use as status heals, the game does not keep track of party members' organs, so it's unknown if this would have been represented by simply taking a large chunk of Body as well.
Order, Defend! Nothing Grouped with Pav's (Chaotic Soul) "Lieutenant" skills.
Similar in name to his used Order, Charge! skill which causes all other party members to attack the enemy without using a turn. Possibly could have raised party defense or caused them to Guard instead.
Bribe Nothing Likely to have been one of Caligura's (Decrepit Soul) "Mobster" skills.
Likely would have enabled additional Talk options against enemies similar to his used Intimidate skill and Karin's used Persuade skill.
Healing Link Applies the unused Healing Link state to a party member, which does nothing.
(Can be used in and out of battle, Cost: 0 Mind)
The "Notes" of both versions of the unused Healing Link state seem to have code for some kind of regen effect that's intended to sap life from the party member who cast it, but it doesn't function when used in-game.
Resurrection Nothing Grouped with the Alll-mer affinity skills.
Possibly cut in favor of the higher-drawback Magna-medical, since reviving dead party members is practically unheard of in the Fear & Hunger games.

Unused Maps

Fortress

Fear & Hunger 1's first map, Fortress is still leftover in the data. The graphics have been overwritten with a new tileset but comparing the two, the Event tiles are largely the same.

Fear & Hunger 2 (Unused) Fear & Hunger
F&H2-FortressOverwritten.png F&H-Fortress.png

Church_level2_OLD

An older version of the Church of Alll-mer basement with a different, smaller layout. Where the Winged Statue and Martyr Effigy would be instead warps the player to the Rher Dimension version of the area.

Church_level2_OLD (Unused) Church_level2 (Used)
F&H2-Church level2 OLD.png F&H2-Church level2.png

Temple_site

Earlier version of the Temple Site where the Tower and the Museum are on the same map instead of separated by an area transition. The used versions are Temple_site_1 for the Museum exterior and Temple_site_2 for the Tower exterior. Likely also used for testing the Moonscorched Contestant battles since Cocoon, Monster, Giant, Mechanical Dance, and Valkyrie are placed in it completely stationary, along with Black Kalev who will give the player a plethora of items and Black Orb.

F&H2-Temple site.png

Lake_test

Unfinished version of the Lake which seems to be for testing events like the boat-rowing animation and Daan leaving your party when trying to leave town on Day 1.

F&H2-Lake test.png

outskirts

Seems to be for testing Necromancy, as well as Iki Turso's appearing animation, as he will rise from the ground when walked near.

F&H2-outskirts.png

MAP007

Contains a debug tile, and a Janitor that will pursue the player, but not start a battle.

F&H2-Map007.png

club_test

An unfinished version of PRHVL BOP with a missing tile and misplaced objects (such as the string of lights).

F&H2-club test.png

test

A duplicate of Mausoleum Alley with nothing in it.

F&H2-test.png

testmap

An very small and empty interior. This is likely an earlier version of the Two-story House.

F&H2-testmap.png

fall_scene

A leftover from Fear & Hunger 1, of the screen where you jump off the cliff in Ma'habre to your death. Graphics are overwritten with a new tileset resulting in a very jumbled appearance.

F&H2-fall scene.png

Unused Party Members

  • August, Caligura, Henryk, Pav, Tanaka and Samarie all have entries in the game's "Actors" as possible party members, however they are currently not playable or recruitable in any form, and have no additional data. In addition, they also have "SELECT" Switches, which are used by the game to designate them as the main character. E.g. "SALARYMAN_SELECT" for Tanaka, "LIEUTENANT_SELECT" for Pav, "MOBSTER_SELECT" for Caligura, etc. Miro has stated that he'd like to have all 14 Contestants playable eventually, if possible. [1][2]
  • Leftovers from Fear & Hunger 1 include the Kid Demon, Marriage, Skeletons, and the First verse, Second verse, and Third verse "party members" for Fear & Hunger 1's Empty Scroll functionality (which also is leftover in this game as an unused item).
  • For whatever reason, a party member called White key exists. The White Key is an item obtained exclusively from O'saa's "full text adventure" character intro and is used to obtain the Joy Mask in the Golden Gates.
  • Several unremarkable test party members simply called character, hero, and test also exist.

Unused Party Talks

Hmmm...
To do:
  • There are likely more.

D'ábel's Island

The boat to D'ábel's Island where you encounter Valkyrie (Karin's Moonscorched form) only appears on Day 3 Night, when all other contestants still alive will Moonscorch. As such, it is impossible to access D'ábel's Island with any of them in your party, but Party Talk dialogue for the location nonetheless exists.

Party Talk
Marina
"Never been here before... The grown ups always told us not to
play near the water, not to mention taking a boat and rowing to
the unknown."
Olivia
"Even barren and rugged nature has its charms I think."
Karin
"What did we come here for?"
"There's absolutely nothing here!"
Abella
"It's bizarre... No matter how I tried to look for the opposite
shore, I couldn't see it... It's as if this island is the only
thing that exists in the mist."
"And here I thought the boat was our one way ticket out of the
horrors of Prehevil..."
Daan
"..."
"It's the same as when I tried to walk through the misty forest
to get away from the city... You just end up circling around and
eventually drift back to your starting point."
"I thought it was just me, but you couldn't row past this island
either..."
"A real pickle we're in, huh?"
Marcoh
"It looked like the mist guided us here, right?"
"..."
"I don't understand any of this. Nor do I like it."
Levi
"..."
"If we really wanted to... We could just stay here on this island
and wait for things to ease up..."
"But I guess there's no way to tell how long exactly that would
be..."
"..."
"Nevermind I said anything..."
O'saa
"Interesting..."
"Something clearly wanted us to come here to this island... but
what?"

Oddities

  • Attempting to run from Mastermind (O'saa's Moonscorched form) will display a dialogue box from Henryk saying "You're not going anywhere!" This seems to be because Henryk was copy-pasted and used as a base for Mastermind.

Internal Names

  • The image files for Chaugur (Abella's Moonscorched form) call it big_boy, as well as the image of all its body parts assembled calling it bop.
  • Dysmorphia's (Samarie's Moonscorched form) image files are rather more explicitly titled body_dysmorphia.
  • The sprites for Monster (Caligura's Moonscorched form) instead call it roots.
  • Father Hugo's file names are all over the place; an assembled sprite of him clothed calls him father_trustworthy, his actual in-game battle sprites are titled marriage (that, along with an unused alternate sprite, possibly insinuating something about his current state lore-wise), and an identical copy of his assembled, clothed battle sprite is simply titled junior.
  • The Decrepit Priest's (of which there are multiple in the game) image files call him oscar.
  • The image files of the Beekeeper enemy are rather amusingly titled mister_dough.
  • The sprites for the Fecal Hound enemy instead call it boiled_hound.
  • The Platoon's sprites and RPG Maker Troops call it spank_tank, which was the name of the original design concept created by Fear & Hunger Discord user vladstori.
  • The Death Mask's sprites simply call it chains.
  • The sprites for the Fallen Cherub enemy, rather on the nose, call it toddler.
  • An early sprite for the Living Flesh simply call it cancer.
  • The sprites for the Sew Job enemy call it umbrella, befitting its appearance.
  • The sprites for Logic, the final boss of Ending A, refer to her by her former name, Reila.
  • The icon for the weapon Sabbath simply calls it crucifix.
  • The filenames for the Poe's overworld sprites call it shyguy.
  • The map name for D'ábel's Island is devils_island.
