Mettaton's "Essay" Comments

When fighting Mettaton EX, one of his "attacks" will be to have you write an essay about him. His response changes if you type in different words. The list of words to trigger the different responses is below. NOTE: words are not case-sensitive, and are listed internally in lower-case. Since 1.05, with the Japanese localization added, the game now also handles Japanese responses (converted to hiragana), and they are also listed here.

...But what does it mean? This game has text or audio that needs to be translated. If you are fluent with this language, please read our translation guidelines and then submit a translation!

Beautiful

If you type any of the above words, depending on how much of them you have used in the essay (each word adds 2 points), Mettaton will say one of the below lines.

"Nice detail... You're right, I do look quite nice." (higher than 1 point, e.g. 1 word and up)

"Wonderful! Amazing! A+... I AM completely stunning." (higher than 3 points, e.g. 2 words and up)

"Oh, I'm blushing... You're completely right, I am beautiful in every way." (higher than 5 points, e.g. 3 words and up)

"Oh my... I'm speechless... You've completely captured how beautiful I am." (higher than 7 points, e.g. 4 words and up)

Special Words

If you type "leg" ("あし" in Japanese), Mettaton will respond that

"That's right. Legs was the correct answer!"

If you type "arm" ("うで" in Japanese), Mettaton will respond that

"How creative. Arms... most people just think about my legs."

If you type "hair" ("かみ", "へあすたいる", or "へあーすたいる" in Japanese), Mettaton will respond that

"My hair... yes, I use metal hair gel."

If you type "personality" ("せいかく" or "ひとがら" in Japanese), Mettaton will respond that

"Yes, my personality is quite charming, isn't it?"

If you type "voice" ("こえ" or "うた" in Japanese), Mettaton will respond that

"They say I have the voice of a Siren.. ........awooga!"

If you type "dancing" or "dance" ("だんす", "おどり", or "おどる" in Japanese), Mettaton will respond

"Dancing...? Thank you, I'm self-taught."

Insulting Mettaton

Mettaton also has lines if you say some rather rude things to him.

If you insult him with any of the above words, Mettaton will wittily respond that "Huh? This essay is supposed to be about me, not about you..."

Confessing to Mettaton

If you profess your love for him, Mettaton will say "What a touching confession! I'll add it to the pile."

Swearing at Mettaton

Mettaton will also react if you swear.

If you curse with any of the above words, Mettaton will reply "Oh my! This is a family friendly TV show. Now stand still while I murder you."

NOTE: "bepis" is an in-joke swear word among Toby's friend circle. "tity" is also referenced later by Deltarune Chapter 2, a game also by Toby.

Toby

If you enter the name of the game's creator, "toby" ("とびー" in Japanese), Mettaton has a unique line. "Toby? What the hell is that? Sounds... sexy."
