This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
Hmmm...
To do:
It's gonna take a lot more than one person to find all the sketches... check anywhere you can and fact check before hand.

This is a sub-page of Prerelease:Pizza Tower.

During Pizza Tower's development, McPig made loads and loads of concept sketches, whenever shared publicly to the official Discord, or found out by various fans of the game, these concept sketches had a purpose to the history of the game's development. These sketches show off never heard of ideas, levels, characters, and show an earlier history and plenty of backstories behind the game while it was still being made.

Mansion Sketches

PTmansionsketch.png PTmansionfarmersketch.png

Concept sketches for the Mansion level. For the farmer sketches, McPig joked around and gave the farmers extreme British accents. In fact, various sketches had jokes and references to memes and other media in them, such as a Hotel Mario reference with Gustavo in the Mansion sketch shown above.

Rework Hub

PTreworkhubsketch.png

A giant concept sketch for the hub from the Rework build. The hub was never worked on again after the build, so many ideas seen here either weren't finished or never left the concept stage. Although the Rework hub matches this concept art almost perfectly in terms of layout, the concept art is notably missing the room to the left of the Pub, Peppino's Pizza. Additionally, this art has a large section for a tutorial area. An unused room for this tutorial exists, but it's empty and inaccessible.

Pizzamancer and the Cheese Dragon

PTmancersketch.png PTmancerearlyconcept.png

The Pizzamancer was originally going to be the one who would spawn random enemies in the unused Hard Mode, however his sprite was never created and therefore Snick.exe was a permanent placeholder. There isn't much known about him, but according to the old lore, he cursed Peppino and his whole family, plus his ancestors, for disrespecting pizza. The curse was that they couldn't make pizza in peace anymore, but he was eventually defeated by one of Peppino's ancestors. It's also mentioned that he created the Pizza Tower, with the Cheese Dragon possibly being the original owner.

Potiental Pikmin/Lemmings-Like Game

PTstupidratminsketch.png

Shared via the Pizza Tower Discord, there were originally plans for a game that combined Lemmings and Pikmin gameplay that starred Bigfoots, featuring the Stupid Rats found in the final game.

Gnome Mounts

PT ConceptGnomeMounts.png

Concept art of a gnome on many mounts. Although Gustavo rides on Brick and was once stated to be a gnome, it's unknown if this art inspired his moveset as it wasn't created until roughly 1 and a half years after this art was created.

Opening Storyboards

PTintrostoryboard1.pngPTintrostoryboard2.png

A storyboard for the intro scene. A large difference is that the first two scenes of Peppino running was originally right after the shot of his Pizzaria, and would flash back to the scenes leading up to it. The storyboard specifies that flashes were supposed to be before and after the running scenes, while in the final game they were moved to after the scene where Peppino's Pizzaria is blown up, the scene before Peppino hits a Cheese Slime, and the scene before the anime-styled shots. The scene with Gustavo, which was before the scene where Peppino hits a cheese slime, was originally zoomed in rather than made to look like an in-game shot, Gustavo would be ran past rather than hit, and Mr. Stick isn't present. The scene showing still frames of Peppino running and the anime-styled shots are missing.
