Origin of the Rom

According to the release thread, "this ROM was given by Callis, who in turn got it from “Mink”, who Callis knows more than I do, since he’s actually talked to that person." We don't know if it has been dumped from a GBA cartridge, but I discovered there is an identical (byte-per-byte) version in the GameCube Japanese Interactive Multi-Game Demo Disc - May 2004. Should the origin be added to the article?--Verne94 14:32, 21 April 2013 (EDT)

Existence

Although I'm not asking for the specifics, is the proto ROM still circulating? I'm thinking of digging around to see if any other areas still exist on the ROM, considering the page doesn't talk about them. -Cakes 11:35, 19 July 2013 (EDT)

Look at my previous post, there is a link to the release thread--Verne94 13:21, 19 July 2013 (EDT)

It 404s for me.
Damnit, forgot sig. -Cakes 16:07, 21 July 2013 (EDT)

Debug Room?

We already know that the final version of that game has a debug room: https://tcrf.net/Kirby_and_the_Amazing_Mirror#Debug_Room

However, is the Debug Room in this Prototype ROM as well (accessed through level warp cheats, of course)? And most importantly, how different is it from the Debug Room in the final version?--MUGEN-tan 14:17, 24 September 2015 (EDT)

Doesn't appear to be there. Did some stuff and put it on a notes page. -Einstein95 (talk) 10:05, 24 September 2015 (EDT)
Thanks. The complete lack of the Debug Room (or any other room that is not used in in this prototype) might hint that the Prototype might be very VERY early...but aren't debug rooms usually among the first rooms to be created? Or is it different with every game?--MUGEN-tan 21:34, 24 September 2015 (EDT)
I have some room IDs from the final game listed in this post, if you need them: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=396593#396593 But none of the IDs I tried worked. The debug room, ability room, tutorial, arena, etc. all lead to crashes. --Mugg1991 (talk) 16:48, 19 December 2016 (EST)

Moonsalto

I'm not sure enough to make the edit, but considering it's the fighter ability it could be that the text present is instead an awkward rendering of "moonsault", which is a popular wrestling move in Japan, rather than a reference to a gymnastic technique. JustMe (talk) 09:24, 22 December 2016 (EST)

Go ahead and change it. I'm not any more sure than you are :) --Mugg1991 (talk) 15:34, 22 December 2016 (EST)

Possible debug controls/menu

Hello. _Vyroz_ on Twitter brought to my attention that there are suspicious strings in the ROM at $826140 that may be interesting to look into. ( https://twitter.com/_Vyroz_/status/1478086091144060928 ) --Mugg1991 (talk) 15:33, 10 January 2022 (UTC)

Restored, see main page. --QUFB (talk) 16:56, 24 September 2022 (UTC)
