This is a sub-page of Splatoon 3/Unused Animations.
Every animation added before the Fresh Season 2023 update had leftover assets for fistbumps, alongside the Reppin' Inkopolis and The Square Show-Off emotes. While some of these were finalized before fistbumps were officially added to the game in Sizzle Season 2023, many of these were simply autogenerated and seem to have their fair share of quirks and gimmicks. Due to the fact these animations were added significantly before the Fresh Season 2024 update (which gave each class special animations regardless of whether they had appeared in the previous game or shared an animation with another class), there are only equivalent animations for some fistbumps.

Brellas
Brellas lacked data for resizing the weapon in the animation, causing the Brella to be significantly larger in the early animation.
The Square Show-Off
The active Brella continues to spin when attempting to fistbump, which was likely a mistake and was removed from the final.

Flip Out
The early right fistbump seems to not be animated properly, as the player's hand will clip into the Brella at the start and end of the animation.

Brushes
Brushes, similarly to Rollers, also have improper scaling on their weapon. Interestingly, the early Flip Out fistbump uses a slightly modified version of the ending pose, which can be seen in the "Release Date Revealed!" trailer.

Notably, the Flip Out charger animation does not have an early variant of these, unlike the Reppin' Inkopolis and The Square Show-Off animations.

Dualies
The Dualies class uniquely comes with an alternate version of each animation known as "NoFly", which stops the Dualie from being thrown up into the air during the fistbump. This was never given an equivalent in the final game.

Rollers
Similar to Brellas, Rollers lacked data for resizing the weapon in the animation, causing the Roller to be significantly larger in the early animation. This can be seen especially with the Reppin' Inkopolis animation, with the Roller being nearly double the size of the final game's.

Shooters
Every Shooter win animation comes with a version of the pose that has the player fistbump with their other hand, to prevent fistbumping using the Shooter itself, which may look odd using certain weapons.

Flip Out
The Flip Out pose used in the early fistbump animations can actually be seen in the "Release Date Revealed!" trailer, which leans farther outwards and points the Shooter in a different direction.

Reppin' Inkopolis
The Reppin Inkopolis' animation has a tertiary animation aswell, likely for a similar purpose to the Shooters. However, the final version is based off the version with the hand holding the weapon, unlike the Shooters.

The Slosher's early right fistbump does not use the other hand like in the final, causing quite the humorous animation where the player essentially fistbumps using the Slosher.

Once again, the weapon scaling is not complete in the early version, causing the Splatanas to be abnormally large.

Splatlings
The Splatling class also suffers from weapon scaling issues in the early fistbumps, for all 3 emote animations.
Reppin' Inkopolis
The iconic "Splatling Hug" animation in the early version only exists for the Heavy Splatling, which got it's own animation in the final game (alongside the final game giving the default animation to the Heavy Edit Splatling when it released in Drizzle Season 2023). This could potentially explain why it was the only emote to have its animation changed throughout the game's lifespan, likely to make the character's head better match the angle seen with said animation seen in the original Splatoon, which took effect since Version 4.0.0.

Stringers
The early right fistbump animation is clearly unfinished, as the Stringer improperly has its bones set, making it freak out when playing the animation. The final game also uses special animations for the win emote, which were not added in this build.
