Strife
Strife |
---|
Also known as: Strife: Quest for the Sigil This game has unused graphics. This game has a prototype article |
This article is a work in progress. ...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes. |
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article? |
Strife is an early FPS/RPG hybrid game created by Rogue Entertainment, using a modified version of the Doom engine.
An updated release featuring additional content and based on a reverse-engineered fan-made source port, The Original Strife: Veteran Edition, was released by Night Dive Studios in 2014. Since it includes the unaltered WAD files from the original release and merely patches over them with an add-on WAD at run-time, this page also applies to that version.

LOG75: Unused "Judgment Call time" log which has a matching BlackBird voice. Of note is that the game's endings (good, neutral, and bad) branches off here, and the game might be hinting you have a choice in the matter.
JUDGMENT CALL TIME... THE ORACLE WANTED US BACK FOR ANOTHER VISIT, BUT NOW THAT WE'VE GOT TWO PIECES, WE MIGHT WANT TO RETURN TO BASE.
LOG88: Unused "Up to my hips in blood" log which has a matching BlackBird voice.
I'M SORRY, AFTER BEING UP TO MY HIPS IN BLOOD I CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING WITTY TO SAY RIGHT NOW. LET'S JUST GET BACK TO MACIL.
T1TEXT: Text for ending of demo version, unused by retail.
Congratulations! You have completed the Strife demo.
C1TEXT: Text for an unused intermission after defeating the Programmer. This is used in the v1.1 Beta.
A FLASH OF METAL CALLS YOU TO THE CORPSE OF THE PROGRAMMER. LYING ON THE GROUND BEFORE HIM, IS A PIECE OF THE SIGIL OF THE ONE GOD. AS YOU REACH DOWN TO RETRIEVE IT, A CHARGE COURSES THROUGH YOUR BODY. BEFORE YOU CAN QUESTION THIS REACTION, THE TEMPLE BEGINS TO COLLAPSE. NARROWLY ESCAPING THE DESTRUCTION, YOU ARE GREETED BY THE GRIM FACES OF YOUR FELLOW SOLDIERS. THRUSTING THE SIGIL PIECE IN THE AIR DRAWS A DEAFENING CHEER THAT FOLLOWS YOU INTO UNCONSCIOUSNESS.
