Developer Thing

article from one of the developers on the localization from US to Japan. Probably worth adding the stuff on it here, especially since (finally) it's not a simple title screen change... --Xk-sig.png Xkeeper (talk) 04:34, 12 January 2012 (EST)

Lost Cutscenes

So, somebody found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d5651XSuh0 It was thought to be for a cartoon series, but a Crash Mania article reveals it was actually supposed to be the game's intro and ending. So, do we add it to the article? --Fastpager200 sprite.png Fastpager200 Thy Awesomesauce 08:03, 19 July 2015 (EDT)

I think that would probably go to the prerelease page TheBluegeek (talk) 15:07, 19 July 2015 (EDT)TheBluegeek
That's not an ingame thing so I suppose not. -- ManDude (talk) 11:30, 24 July 2015 (EDT)

Trial Disc

So I got me hands on a Japanese Trial Disc. It contains levels up to the first boss. But with portal hopping, one can access 3 more levels (The Lost City, Jaws of Darkness, The Lab). And if one glitches the gems in levels 2 & 3 (?), the game shows gems on some later levels. This thing might be worth something, other than having a message after reaching the normal end point (you get a message after beating the available boss). --PSXDRIVERPLAYER OUT. Japanese Trial disc oddities, part 2 - if you get a game over after getting any gems (dunno if reaching bonus stage ends count, didn't test with that) and selecting no to the choice given, the game shows you a final password, and it is always the 0% (8 inputs long) password. Interestink. --PSXDRIVERPLAYER OUT. (talk) 05:57, 30 July 2023 (UTC)
This is normal. If you never complete a Tawna stage then your level progress never gets saved. -- ManDude (talk) 15:27, 30 July 2023 (UTC)
What I mean is that is shown if you get any gems or complete any bonus rounds or both, getting no percentages at all makes you go straight to title screen when game overing and ticking no to continuation prompt. Why show that at all, especially knowing the full Japanese version doesn't deal with giving passwords anyway. --PSXDRIVERPLAYER OUT. (talk) 16:44, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

What

Noticed this getting added to PAL differences section - "Sometimes you can't even get 10 Wumpa fruits on a bouncing crate." - someone explain. I've played that very version most out of them all and I recall there's only one such box you can't get the full 10 Wumpas for some reason. I know that if you're not quick enough you can't get all 10, but I recall all such boxes but one (I don't remember which one exactly) giving all 10 Wumpa fruits. Am I good at the game and others not so good or something? "I demand an explanation!" -Sqt. Dunlop

(And nope, me playing with the Platinum disc all these years doesn't count here, I've checked, the OG disc and the Platinum disc both have the exact same data on them - I recently got a Black Label disc and I checked it for that.) --PSXDRIVERPLAYER OUT. (talk) 11:27, 27 July 2019 (EDT)
