This worth anythin'?

Dunno if this applies to all versions, but I used PAL for this: while trying to set a new record some time back I had a level (31) where top 2 times were the same (0:01:60) and the last one different. In two occasions I got a situation where all three times were the same. The record table always reverted back to whatever it was. (There's something preventing all times being the same?) When finally getting a new record time (0:01:48) you guessed it, things stayed. Is this thing (not all three times allowed to be the same) worth something? --PSXDRIVERPLAYER OUT. Debug/Cheat Menu in Crash Bandicoot: Warped

Hey, just opening up a talk about this because I'd like the air cleared here: as we know, a debug/cheat menu exists in the prototypes that have released of Crash Bandicoot Warped. Recently, it was added that this menu exists in the retail game as well. However, I've tried the code numerous times on NTSC-U/C, which to my understanding is the inital retail release, and the menu didn't show. This leads me to believe that, if this is indeed true, there's some information we're missing, such as which retail versions this works on. If this could be added and investigated that would be helpful, because I wasted 5 minutes mindlessly trying the code with the D-Pad and left stick with no success. -- Mementomori (talk) 15:04, 25 March 2023 (EST)

Hey there. Cheat and debug features indeed exist in retail, however a GOOL variable related to debug mode needs to be edited before you can insert any button combos, as it's not normally accessible without hacking. Keep in mind that only the cheat menu is normally accessible in the prototypes, not the debug features themselves (which are also turned off by default). I recommend checking out the page soon as I'm about to add more info regarding the other debugging functionalities. --Darkaiser (talk) 19:16, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
Hi, thank you for the clarification! :) Good to know there's more info coming, I was beside myself thinking there's something I missed when trying the code out haha! -- Mementomori (talk) 15:41, 25 March 2023 (EST)
I would avoid calling it a "cheat" menu if its explicit purpose is for debugging. -- ManDude (talk) 18:46, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
