Golf Area

I'm working on getting some material/pictures to upload for the golf area. --Zelrio (talk) 05:38, 25 November 2016 (EST)

Is it a completely different map or are you talking about the small area which can be seen in the Hano Grand Resort? I placed my character in said small area and there is nothing interesting which can't be seen in the final game. After walking a few steps, there are invisible walls which prevent me from going further. So if there isn't an extra map for the whole golf area, I don't really think it would be worth noting. SunakazeKun (talk) 13:21, 28 November 2016 (EST)
If you use the "walk through walls" cheat that's part of the NTR SUMO plugin, it is possible to explore that area. There is more of the golf course and the camera is programmed to pan in a certain direction if you continue towards where the hole to the course should be. The green, bunker, and hole are all missing. Empty space with a strange polygon in the center. The 2D map indicates there should be something there that isn't. The game itself never pans normally when you run by Hano Grand Resort to see any of this. One of the Elite Four is the daughter of Hano Grand's owner and in theory, she she was supposed to be introduced earlier in the game but the golf course was dropped. Jedivulcan (talk) 15:31, 18 December 2016 (EST)
The entirety of the "golf course" on the Hano Grand Resort map is background scenery, complete with silly billboard trees and really low-fi textures at the back of it. There's actually a point from the front of the hotel where the camera pans out just far enough that you can see all of it, so it's not even unused background scenery, and (unlike the weird little cliff near the top of Brooklet Hill) it doesn't have any collision set up that indicates it was ever meant to be more than background scenery. There's definitely plenty of weirdness around the golf course, but it's all circumstantial; unless there's a map model (or at least an empty map header or something...) for a full, traversable version of the golf course, there's nothing solid enough to warrant inclusion on the page. --Afti (talk) 00:14, 23 December 2016 (EST)

"Unused" Z-Crystals

Is there really any reason that these should be here, especially so early in the games' lifespan? --AquaBat (talk) 16:20, 27 November 2016 (EST)

Edit:Maxine: i believe they are Solgalium z lunalium z Ultranecroznium z and lycan but this is just speculation they could also be test items/dummy items(12/30/2018:11:11:AM)

They're not really unused, infact I'm pretty sure they're actually functional if you trade them in from Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, but perhaps I'm wrong. --Bloxis (talk) 17:58, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

Minor thing - little ledge in Brooklet Hill

Was playing around with noclip earlier and I found this.

Little ledge with a cavern entrance on it, similar deal to the one on Route 8 that connects to the Lush Jungle caves or the Konokoni City side area you reach from Diglett's Tunnel. It's above and to the northeast of the second pool in Brooklet Hill proper. Camera never actually pans up far enough to reveal it.

No connection to the rest of the area - just that little cavern and a ledge that's just about big enough to have an item or something on it. Fully modeled, with appropriate collision on everything... but the camera angle exposes some of the black void beneath. Rotate the camera to put the cavern at your back, though, (since the angle you get here is just inherited from the nearest "good" zone) and you'd get a really nice view of the area below, including a lot of the background version of the Totem's Den area that you can't normally see.

I guess it's just a little nook that would've had an item and a neat view at some point until level design changes killed whatever side path brought you here? Nothing major, but it's probably worth putting on the page, anyway. --Afti (talk) 17:28, 27 November 2016 (EST)

I looked into this and it's a little odd. The camera only ever pans far enough to reveal it when you're running through a wall far away from it. It's possible that the reason why the cave entrance doesn't lead anywhere is because it's cosmetic and there might be an exit or secret area that leads into it. The actual area might be loaded separately. Jedivulcan (talk) 15:41, 18 December 2016 (EST)
I don't have any 3DS tools so I can't verify this for myself, but in Brooklet Hill, in the second pool of water, the camera is angled in such a way that the waterfalls and basins above and to the north of the exploreable area are shown, including a small ledge and a cave entrance. Would this be the same ledge, or a different one?Dirkac (talk) 16:42, 3 January 2017 (EST)

O-Power Sound Effect

Supposedly there's an event in Haina desert which requires showing a man a lunatone or a solrock - both of which can't be obtained in the game without Pokebank - which triggers this sound effect to play. So, as of right now, the sound effect is "unused", but it definitely won't last, so is it worth keeping on the page? --Hwd45 (talk) 00:55, 30 November 2016 (GMT)

Yes, worth keeping until it's heard in-game through normal means. -Ehm (talk) 20:16, 29 November 2016 (EST)

Unobtainable items

The Battle Tree opponents use nearly every Mega Evolution, including ones not obtainable at the moment like the Audinite. So every mega stone is in the game and functional, despite only a subset being available for the player. Also the Macho Brace is apparently in the game though unobtainable. I wonder if the same gaggle of key items as previous Pokemon games is still in. Think the Red Chain is on its 4th generation of filling out a table? --Orange Fluffy Sheep (talk) 08:23, 3 December 2016 (EST)

If the text dump is anything to go by, yeah, it's all still in there. Syntaxlies (talk) 17:17, 8 December 2016 (EST)
It looks like they've decided on giving them out as competition prizes: https://3ds.pokemon-gl.com/information/0d7af88f-5a08-402e-846c-8a9e77f81647 with the upcoming online competition in February giving you the Mawilite and Beedrillite if you participate in it. --JohnVGC (talk) 01:43, 8 February 2017 (EST)

Struggle and Z-Crystals

According to what I've heard there is data in-game that a Normalium Z would power up Struggle to a Breakneck Blitz that has a base power of 1 (one). As far as I know you can't actually use Z-Crystals with Struggle, so this is unused, but I'd like confirmation before I put it on the page. -- Sheeza (talk) 15:07, 16 December 2016 (EST)

Walking and Running animations

So walking and running animations have been found for literally every Pokémon. Should all these videos be added separately or just linked to one?--ChReNiC (talk) 07:35, 17 December 2016 (EST)

Unused Player's House Rooms

Using the walk through walls cheat, I found out that the player's house has 3 additional rooms that can't normally be entered or seen. There's a full bathroom/laundry room, a half bathroom with only a toilet, and a garage. They all have modeled entries/exits, but their functionality seems to be removed. I have a feeling that other houses and buildings may also have some unused rooms, so it might be worth looking into. Blazingflare (talk) 01:20, 2 January 2017 (EST)

I think I found the bathroom, laundry room, and garage areas you speak of in the files, I'll be uploading this to Models-Resource tomorrow. Pokemon Moon Romfs a/0/8/6 dec_0233 for the Laundry Room, dec_0267 for the bathroom, and dec_0241 for the garage. - Hallow (talk) 06:53, 19 September 2017 (EST)

Shell Smash Kommo-o and Update Log

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXxg1mpqEa0

The video, also recently the update 1.1 of Sun and Moon made changes to the Battle Tree, the infamous Shell Smash Kommo-o has its move removed and replaced with Draco Meteor. A Hawlucha has been replaced by a Pidgeot.

SimisageJittens (talk) 23:56, 10 January 2017 (EST)

Do we know the moves and ability of the Hawlucha? --Sgv Sth (talk) 02:49, 11 January 2017 (EST)
Yes, but it doesn't look like it was replaced for being illegal. According to this page, the exact same Hawlucha was in there twice, once as entry 1 and once as 226. They just replaced one of the instances. -- Harmony (talk) 22:19, 24 January 2017 (EST)

A Strange Small Island

There is this far off island in Alola, northeast of Akala Island. As far as I can tell, it can't be accessed. But it shows up on the game map for flying to places on the top screen. It's even in the picture of the region, covered in clouds. http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/thumb/8/8d/Alola_artwork.png/800px-Alola_artwork.png What is this weird island? Is it an unused location or some kind of foreshadowing? --WhiteCheddaPichu (talk) 20:25, 10 February 2017 (EST)

Looks like Poke Pelago. The giant beanstalk certainly matches the early tiers of the one on the bean Island (I can hardly tell the Islands apart... I think it's Abeens?) Phineas81707 (talk) 04:54, 11 February 2017 (EST)

Helmets

Apparently there are unused files of all NPC Trainers with Helmets. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kleijxd (talk • contribs)

Can you elaborate and give us a source? The NPC portraits were combed through when the game first came out and there were no portraits of anyone in helmets besides the Workers and Aether employees. --AquaBat (talk) 09:16, 15 February 2017 (EST)
They are not NPC portraits, they are trainer models. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kleijxd (talk • contribs)
Can you tell us where these models were found in the files, and who found them? --AquaBat (talk) 17:49, 17 February 2017 (EST)
The helmets are in the file containing the 3D models, I think the location is a/0/8/3. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kleijxd (talk • contribs)
The helmets denote if an npc is riding a pokeride pokemon, I've looked through all the maps loaded overworld NPCs _AC in a/0/8/3 and only found a few that are used in-game. dec_0168(Hau'oli Cemetery(cutscene gives fling tm at night only?))/0597(Unsure map is Hau'oli city)/0619(Paniola Town)/0685(Hano Beach)/1268(Route 13)/1378(Mount Hokulani) there are a bunch in a/1/9/6(All overworld NPCs/Pokemon/Props) that might be unused. --KekeMcGee

Overworld Zygarde.

I've found overworld models for 50% Zygarde and 10% Zygarde and am 99% sure they are unused, can't find them used in any maps in a/0/8/3 _AC(NPCs/Pokemon/Props loaded on map) files.

found in a/1/9/6 file_00166.cm & file_00167.cm

https://i.imgur.com/px1BkMh.png

can anyone confirm that they are 100% unused?

--KekeMcGee

User:Maxine looks like its completly unused but it was reused for the ultra games

Mega Z-Move

In case anyone is interested, you can use a Z-Move after Mega Evolution, albeit with the NTR Cheats. Mega Evolve as normal, then enable Z-Moves without the crystals to perform a Mega Z-Move

Music Filename Oddities

When I was browsing through USUM(but effectively also SM's)'s music, I found that certain tracks seem to be mismatched, for example a track that's clearly meant for a cutscene, is grouped together with route themes. I don't quite know if I should put those here (SM's page), on USUM's page, or on both, though, or if it would even be feasable to list all of them. I should also consider the fact that, I don't remember most of these tracks because they're used for the cutscenes or cinematics. CharmyBee99 (talk) 18:23, 27 July 2019 (EDT)

Unless it comes out to a short list, it's probably better to just mention the oddity on the US/UM page with a note saying the same oddity exists in S/M. --KirbyFan97 (talk) 19:26, 27 July 2019 (EDT)

About the "unused" walking Pokemon

Are you guys sure that it's really unused? I wanna point out that there's some Pokemon that used this animation for Pokefinder minigame for roaming around. -- Trimint123 (talk) 3:00 PM, August 27th 2019 (WIB)

Separate models. That’s mentioned in the section. —AquaBat (talk) 10:35, 28 August 2019 (EDT)

Pre release content incomplete

There are a few pre release things not mentioned in the article:

In X and Y a character mentions a waterfall that flows upwards. This is likely a reference to a real life location in Hawaii known as waipuhia falls (sorry if I misspelled it.) despite the fact that Alola is based on Hawaii, there is no location in the game that matches this description. This could possibly mean that the location was cut from Sun and Moon.

There was also some concept art seen in the reveal trailer, such as a placeholder for the male player character speaking to an early Lillie.

Gigaleaks continue?

It seems the gigaleaks are continuing, and with that we have every possible build of Pokemon Sun and Moon. So... what do we do about the amount of builds there are? --Bloxis (talk) 17:54, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
