Bomberman SS?
Anyone who has played the Japanese version of Saturn Bomberman on certain emulators (uoYabause, for example) will notice that the ROM name will show up as Bomberman SS rather than Saturn Bomberman. Bomberman SS seems to be exclusively in the Japanese rom (The English rom simply says Saturn Bomberman). This is most likely the game's original title before it was changed to Saturn Bomberman. Here are some things that prove this theory.
- At the top left corner of the Japanese jewel case art, An early logo can be seen (shown above). it says "Bomberman SS". This was removed in the US box art (The European box art uses different artwork).
- The ROM header thing that I mentioned earlier.
- Most Bomberman Title Logos are in English (even in Japan). Saturn Bomberman is one of the few exceptions to this. The Bomberman SS logo is in English. The name change was probably so late in development that Hudson Soft didn't have the time to make a new English logo for the game's Japanese release.
These points prove that Saturn Bomberman was originally Bomberman SS. This also proves that Saturn Bomberman was probably "slightly" rushed since the original title appears on the box art.
Moving this here due to the high amount of speculation and there's not much found inside the game's data to keep this in the article yet. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 20:48, 29 January 2018 (EST)
