Unused Areas

Beta versions of some levels are still left in the game and can be accessed through some specific actions. The most interesting thing is fully working early version of Overhill and Underhill, that could be seen on some beta screenshots and trailers. In the video below you can see the area and how to access it (3:55). There's no collectibles, but everything is reachable.

Also in this guide to the hidden developer features you can see some other unused areas in the game. There's a library and additional big cave area on the Barrels Out Of Bond level (6:22), some unused platforming section in A Warm Welcome level (10:24) and maybe even more to be found.

Unused Enemies

There's a completely working scrapped Troll boss battle can be triggered in Overhill and Underhill. For that you need to skip some triggers using the developer ghost mode and the Troll will appear. You always thought that section with the Troll key was a bit too big? You wondered why there's a Troll key and a big door, but no Troll? It was meant to be there! And this boss battle is pretty unique and interesting, you had to trick him into colliding with the columns. Most likely that Troll key would be given to you only after the death of that Troll.
