(05) - Fairy Ocarina

The Fairy Ocarina appears in the first batch of Majora's Mask pre-release screenshots, in August, 1999. The Ocarina of Time doesn't appear until December.

(11) - Longshot

Zora Link is seen in pre-release screenshots from August, 1999 with the Longshot equipped on B. It's likely that this ability was later replaced with Zora Link's special attacks. The only remaining icon in the game is for the Hookshot, not the Longshot, despite everything else indicating the Longshot. This item is referred to as the "fairy slingshot" in the game.

The Hylian Loach was likely replaced by the Seahorse, an item which also once came in a bottle. The text associated with it is located next to the Seahorse's text in the game's script. Like the Zora Eggs, it can be sold for 20 rupees at the Curiosity Shop.

The icon for the Moon Stone is identical to the icon that is displayed when you buy maps from Tingle, though it never appears in your inventory. Because there are two references to the Moon Stone in the Japanese get message and description for the Moon's Tear, it seems that this was an early name for the item used in the Deku Scrub title deed trading sequence.

It's easy to tell from this wallet's icon that it holds 99 Rupees, making it the smallest wallet available. It does not match any wallet from Ocarina of Time, nor does it exist unused in that game's files. However, the same icon was later discovered in an overdump containing assets from an Ocarina of Time build from late 1997. Wallets never appear on any of the pause screens in either Zelda game.

(5C) - Fishing Rod

The Fishing Rod is identical to Ocarina of Time's. When used, Link takes it out and holds it, but the model is invisible, and the game freezes when it is cast. The fishing rod was updated and used in the 3DS remake at either the Southern Swamp or Great Bay fishing holes.

The Sun's Song itself is in Majora's Mask, with it's unlock flag always set to 0. Using codes to enable it or accessing debug tools and setting the flag to 1 allows it to be played and has the same effect it does in Ocarina of Time, and can make the moon crash if the player does not enter another aera on Night or the Final day.

(B4) - Bottled Bug

This "Get Item" model is identical to the Bottled Bug in Ocarina of Time's Potion Shop. However, bugs are not sold in any shop in Majora's Mask.

(EB) - Bronze Quiver

This is the "Get Item" for the starting quiver. It exists within Link's player actor, ovl_player_actor, but isn't referenced.

It's linked to object 0097, which contains the game's quivers. The shader it uses is #15, while the silver Large Quiver uses shader #16, and the gold Largest Quiver uses shader #17. Because Link automatically receives the starting quiver when he obtains the Hero's Bow, its "Get Item" is never seen.

Unused Items Actions

To do: Supposedly, the Goron Bracelet functionality is present in the game, which allows Child Link to pick up bushes. Deku Link, however, does not have it and as a result he will struggle picking up bushes just like Child Link in Ocarina of Time. This is unseen however, as Deku Link cannot pick up bushes in the first place without the use of glitches.

In ovl_player_actor file contains data items, can be found in offset 00CC9A20 - 00CFE660 (J 1.0), the original items values can be found in 0x2EAEC at 0x2EB5C in ovl_player_actor (J 1.0).

gameplay_dangeon_keep

Many Ocarina of Time development leftovers can be found from offset 010AF000 - 01141630 in the Japanese v1.0 version of the game. These offsets are equivalent to the gameplay_dangeon_keep file in Ocarina of Time, which also contains various development remnants.

Majora's Mask also shares a set of unused icons with Ocarina of Time, as seen below.
