Trials and Tribulations

Just a reminder, that unless you have content post for a game, a page shouldn't be created for it. A wiki full of empty pages wouldn't look too nice. :) TheBluegeek (talk) 08:13, 3 August 2016 (EDT)TheBluegeek

MM Version Differences

Hey, I reverted your edit, as the Version Differences for MM don't belong under the Unused Content heading. As it stands, that page is grouped by category rather than having a catch-all section for unrelated subpages. :) --GlitterBerri (talk) 15:42, 15 January 2017 (EST)

Disregard that, einstein95 found another layout that works. :3 --GlitterBerri (talk) 16:04, 15 January 2017 (EST)

For the most part, misspellings in games by themselves aren't terribly noteworthy. Did they fix that "Berra" spelling in a later revision or is that in all versions of the game? Because if that typo is present, it's probably not that noteworthy in terms of the wiki. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 18:33, 23 January 2017 (EST)

I'm pretty sure the misspelling is in all versions, but yeah you're right, it isn't noteworthy. Mr. Kite (talk) 06:41, 26 January 2017 (EST)

Adding Content From Other Sites

If you're going to lift information and images from another site, at least reword things, credit the site as a source, and upload the highest resolution version of each image. -Ehm (talk) 11:44, 9 March 2017 (EST)

How can I get a higher resolution of the pictures if no high resolution for the pictures are available? Mr. Kite (talk) 13:36, 9 March 2017 (EST)
You uploaded 300x166 versions of 796x440 images. Please refer to the links in my previous message. -Ehm (talk) 13:38, 9 March 2017 (EST)

For screenshots, please don't take JPEGs, especially JPEGs from other sites. Take clean PNG screenshots instead. Also, no need to continuously change World and International to international. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 16:37, 9 March 2017 (EST)

What`s the difference between JPEG and PNG? Does PNG give a higher resolution? Mr. Kite (talk) 09:35, 11 March 2017 (EST)
PNGs have lossless compression, JPEGs usually don't and have compression artifacts around the images. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 16:16, 11 March 2017 (EST)
Is it possible to change a JPEG picture to PNG just by changing .JPEG to .PNG at the end of a picture name? Mr. Kite (talk) 11:54, 13 March 2017 (EDT)
All that does is retain the artifacts from the JPEG. Not only that but JPEGs tend to not have the best quality. Also, please make sure the images are of the correct resolution. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 18:23, 13 March 2017 (EDT)

Image Uploads

Do not upload any more images until you have thoroughly read and understood our image rules and guidelines. Thank you. -Ehm (talk) 16:48, 14 March 2017 (EDT)

Don't forget to tag your images and include the game name in your uploads' names. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 05:51, 12 June 2017 (EDT)
How do I that? Mr. Kite (talk) 05:53, 12 June 2017 (EDT)
It is explained in the guidelines I asked you to read. -Ehm (talk) 06:50, 12 June 2017 (EDT)

So the thing I was doing wrong was just not putting the game name in my uploads? Mr. Kite (talk) 21:32, 21 June 2017 (EDT)

You were also uploading JPEGs, which is a no-no for the most part, especially for title screens. We prefer you use PNGs. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 03:12, 6 July 2017 (EDT)

Battletoads pre release

The Steamroller level was covered by the pre-release page linked to the battletoads main page. (it's linked on the bob screen) The preceding unsigned comment was added by TR3KT (talk) • (contribs)

Hey. Just wanted to say thanks for linking to my Contra Encyclopedia fan site and showing some interest in the pre-releases of the games. It's good to know it has some readers every now and then; I've especially been hoping there would be more interest in documenting the prototypes as I certainly have not found everything.Emjeeman (talk) 22:53, 24 June 2017 (EDT)

Yeah, no problem. Are you a regular contributor to this site? Mr. Kite (talk) 05:57, 25 June 2017 (EDT)

Not really. I have contributed a few things here and there, but mostly am a visitor. I just check back on certain pages, like the Contra ones, every now and then in hopes of there being more interest towards analyzing those games.Emjeeman (talk) 08:54, 25 June 2017 (EDT)

Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition

Hey, do you think you could make an article for Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition that lists all of the text differences between the US and European versions?

The translation differences can already be found on the Super Mario Wiki, so it shouldn't be too hard to make (though you will need to credit the Super Mario Wiki). ShootingStar7X (talk) 16:32, 12 January 2018 (EST)

Well, there's no page yet for the game, and I'm kinda busy with doing the other ones like Advanced Wars and Ape Escape games, but I will get to it eventually. Thank you for the link. Mr. Kite (talk) 21:38, 13 January 2018 (EST)

Please do not use GilvaSunner's videos on this site. He's more of a remix/parody artist than a video game music ripper. I notice you got tripped up by this for the 1080 Snowboarding page. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 21:54, 18 April 2018 (EDT)

Oh, sorry about that. I found those videos from vgfacts and went to the source and it showed those video clips. I should have checked where they got the video clips from.

Mr. Kite (talk) 14:37, 19 April 2018 (EDT)

Oops. After verifying other videos, turns out the rip was legit. My bad. Also, got GilvaSunner confused with SiIvaGunner (Note the I is an uppercase letter I/i). --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 00:58, 31 May 2018 (EDT)

Quick tip: It's is an abbreviation of it is, while its is a possessive pronoun. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 13:43, 25 May 2018 (EDT)

I know the difference between "it's" and "its". Not trying to be rude but you didn't have to remind me this. Yes it was my fault for the incorrect grammar but was just a simple mistake. I see a bunch of grammar mistakes in other pages too. Mr. Kite (talk) 15:14, 6 June 2018 (EDT)

Is there somewhere like IRC or Discord that I can get in contact with you? Mainly just for coordination with work. I was checking out Minish Cap a bit and it would be easier to team up for comparisons than one person to handle everything I feel. PPLToast (talk) 08:15, 7 August 2018 (EDT)

I don't really have an IRC or Discord that I use but I can contact with you either facebook or twitter Mr. Kite (talk) 19:58, 9 August 2018 (EDT)

Contra III

Hello I was curious why you changed the To Do link on the Contra III page from my site's, for the prototypes? Not trying to knock on other sources, but I cover all known prototypes for the game (3 of them for the SNES version); also, my article on the prototype you alternatively linked covers more of the differences.

Oh, sorry. I'll undo what I edited for that page. Mr. Kite (talk) 16:56, 17 December 2018 (EST)

" because they're already posted on laytonwiki"

Please do not delete content because it's on other sites. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 15:02, 12 January 2019 (EST)

Okay. Sorry about that. Mr. Kite (talk) 20:36, 29 January 2019 (EST)
