Crops
Crops are fine, as long as nothing relevant is cut off or removed. That rule is referring to people who stretch/shrink graphics out of their native resolution. -Ehm (talk) 12:59, 30 July 2017 (EDT)
NSMBU Squirrel Suit animations
They are in the unused file, P_rcha.
It's as I said in the page (but you removed that), they are so old I doubt the Wii U can load them anymore.
For example, animations (in versions 3 and above) usually start with the magic FSKA, those early animations don't even have a magic and start with either 0x00001200 or 0x00001204.
They might be portable to a newer version, though.
It all depends on whether Wexos is willing to help, or if I feel like doing it alone. -AboodXD (talk) 7:19, 29 August 2017 (EDT)
About the unused airship theme from Super Mario Galaxy...
Is your edit saying that this audio is technically used in-game? I actually don't understand what you really are revising in that topic. Arthur1124 (talk) 23:45, 20 October 2017 (EDT)
- No. Sorry for being unclear. I meant that the standard airship music + the airship music embedded in one of the video files is used in the intro. The one on the page is unused AFAIK. --Hiccup (talk) 05:59, 21 October 2017 (EDT)
Miitomo new title screen
The new Miitomo title screen was added in Ver 2.0.0, I believe. --GWizard777 23:59, 12 December 2017 (EST)
YIDS Wii U
Do you happen to know what revisions of the game the Yoshi's Island DS are on the Wii U Virtual Console? Moof (talk) 01:04, 14 June 2018 (EDT)
Mario Kart 7 E3 Demo
Hello. I recently saw that you (or at least a user with the same username as yours) created a page on hiddenpalace.org about a demo build of Mario Kart 7, called E3 2011 Kiosk Demo. Where did you find it? I'm really interested to know more about this. --GDias (talk) 18:53, 5 November 2018 (EST)
- Yeah, that was me. It is listed here on 3dbrew. I've been asked not to talk about the former owner of the cart, but you can fill in the gaps from that page. --Hiccup (talk) 13:11, 6 November 2018 (EST)
- can I have a copy of it? I'd like to check the origins of the "unused menu music". No such menu music exists in any retail copy of Mario Kart 7. I got a lead from a yt comment section saying that the kiosk demo had this music play. --MDHEXT (talk
- The owner never released a dump. But there are USA and European post-final store kiosk demos that can be found on the web. You can also find footage of the E3 demo taken at E3 (and probably other events). When looking in any MK7 ROM for unused music, make sure to check the bcsar sequences etc too. --Hiccup (talk) 04:21, 18 November 2019 (EST)

Look into "BNK_VO_SH_MENU" in the bcsar. --MDHEXT (talk) 11:09, 31 March 2019 (Denver)

3DS SDK soundplayer
Where exactly do I get it? --MDHEXT (talk) 12:38 A.M. (denver) 7 october, 2019
- Here is a copy. You'll need to swap the bcsar in the RomFS (either actually editing the ROM or using a temporary thing like LayeredFS). --Hiccup (talk) 15:24, 7 October 2019 (EDT)
- Can I use it without having my 3DS in dev mode? --MDHEXT (talk) 1:52 P.M. (denver) 9 october, 2019
- Yes. But you might need to use that devmode switch in the luma config before installing the CIA, not sure. No harm in trying it without the switch being on - it should just either work or give an error. --Hiccup (talk) 13:59, 10 October 2019 (EDT)

Sorry for the silly / unhelpful edits
Hey, so uh, sorry for filling up the Luigi's Mansion unknown Builds sub page with unwanted edits for no reason, I didn't mean to start anything up. hope you can forgive me for my silly mistake. --Br123 T T (talk) 15:34, 7 January 2020 (EST)
Wii Sports Resort Regional Differences
I didn't use Google Translate to translate the Japanese. Why? Is it mistranslated?--Vrpndt (talk) 14:33, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
- Someone on the discord just suggested that it might have been, although I probably should have asked why they thought that before asking you.--Hiccup (talk) 19:20, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
"Is this definitely unused code, and not just a case of Buzzy Beetle/generic enemy code being applied to the Goomba?"
I'm pretty sure this is unused/intentional, judging by the disassembly I'm using. TolerableDruid6 (talk) 16:43, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
- Could you show me which part of the disassembly you are looking at? --Hiccup (talk) 17:15, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
Re: PM internal map names
What do you mean by the game's dol? Like a boot.dol? That's TTYD you're thinking of. Just want to double-check before I change it to "ROM". --Alley (talk) 19:40, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
- Whoops. I did have it changed to "ROM" at some point, but I must have put it back accidentally. I was using the TTYD section as a base. Please feel free to change it back to ROM. --Hiccup (talk) 19:44, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
Unused Metroid Prime Voice Clip
Unfortunately, I don't think I'm able to add the file/data location for that "Intense heat readings detected behind this door." voice clip. I only moved the file from the Version Differences Page to the Main Page but forgot to mention it in the edit. But I will try to look into it. --Ganon (talk) 23:12, 9 September 2020 (CEST)
- Ah I see. Seems like it was added by Otnert, but they haven't edited the wiki since 2016, so it might not be easy to contact them. --Hiccup (talk) 21:42, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
SMS Widescreen on switch
The SMS title screen you reverted and before you keep doing so, they actually used Gamemasterplc's gecko code to adjust the game aspect to fit the screen to 16:9 for the 3D All Stars release and shouldn't need to do so if you order/buy it.--Crazy Muzzarino (talk) 07:38, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- Obviously you used a widescreen code. SM3DAS is not available yet. --Hiccup (talk) 08:32, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- That's the one I'm using which got added on the bundle you mentioned.--Crazy Muzzarino (talk) 08:40, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- That explanation seems dubious, if I may chime in. Why would Nintendo use GameCube cheat codes on a port to Switch? It's completely different hardware. Theclaw (talk) 08:56, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- They use tools to convert code from the dol into switch code by emulating the original game using their emulator and look into it's code when it comes to editing things to test out aspect ratio cheats made by hackers before implementing those effects and re-compile them into Switch executables.--Crazy Muzzarino (talk) 09:26, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

Sourcing properly
In the Celeste pre-release page it's asking on where the images came from, which is a video on Maddy Thorson's YouTube page. I'm new to wiki editing and I'm not sure how I'd source the images properly
- In this particular case, I think you should make a sub-heading for the video, link to the video straight under that heading and put all the comparisons under that heading. --Hiccup (talk) 22:23, 10 November 2020 (UTC)

Paper Mario Article
> then this is text error handling code, like in TTYD? then it should be reworded, not removed.
No, that's a literal key that gets replaced by a string it references at runtime, but as that string isn't loaded at this point there's nothing for it to get replaced with. You ever play TF2? It's like when you get killed but the message only shows as %%MESSAGE_KILLED%% or something. DangItBobby (talk) 16:54, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hmm. Have you actually reversed engineered the code? Either way, it still may be worth noting on the page. --Hiccup (talk) 18:18, 20 May 2021 (UTC)

Unused File
This file is unused File:NSMB-prerelease-Famitsu November-Page2.jpg, can it be deleted or implemented somewhere? --Hawk (talk) 21:08, 18 November 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, a typo caused page 1 to appear twice here. I've fixed it, so now the file is used. Thanks for pointing it out. --Hiccup (talk) 18:24, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
Arms kiosk demo
On the todo list you mentioned the omura test map in the kiosk demo. Could you please tell me whether or not you have the kiosk demo and where I can obtain it? — The preceding unsigned comment was added by BasykPeko (talk • contribs)
- I'm afraid I don't remember. However there may be a dump of the kiosk title on the CDN on the web (scene release and/or in the No-Intro set?), or maybe it can be found in one of those Quest update cart dumps (in the No-Intro set). --Hiccup (talk) 08:50, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
- Could you please elaborate a little more? I'm a bit confused Edit: i really need help i've looked in lots of places am i supposed to search up this stuff because quest update cart dumps is just oculus quest stuff please help:( Edit: i found it i think --User:BasykPeko
Super Paper Mario revert
Hey there! I hope you’re having a good day. I noticed that you reverted my edits on the Super Paper Mario page. I changed that sentence, because, as the room seems identical to the previous one, I thought it would be redundant to describe it again, only changing the color mentions. Of course, you seem to be a much more experienced editor than me (I joined a month ago), and, to my admittance, English is not my first language. As such, I’d like your thoughts on this. Best regards, Enivak (talk) 15:11, 12 June 2022 (UTC)
- It was a bit of hasty edit on my part, sorry about that, although its probably better to describe each one with the same amount of detail. --Hiccup (talk) 19:33, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

Super Paper Mario Images
Hey buddy! Remember me from MarioWiki? Finally decided to contribute to The Cutting Room Floor. A recent Dolphin update happened and I decided to experiment. Found a very easy way to take native screenshots now. I did bring it up on Help talk:Contents/Taking Screenshots for a suggested revision.
Anyways, I think SPM screwed up and that is why the black bar on top:
I know, one is a pre-release image and the other is official, but I have a feeling it is a game mistake, seeing as how my uploaded image is the exact same resolution as the pre-release. The file select screen displays no black bar during the fade out/in. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 01:00, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi again. Yeah, maybe that "Raw Internal Resolution" option should be used, the square pixels do look nicer. Its probably more in line with the screenshot rules for other systems too. --Hiccup (talk) 20:08, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
- Not to mention I found that the screenshots I have submitted tend to compress a lot better than the images I was replacing, even before optimization. Cheers to a new era of GameCube/Wii screenshot taking. I really dove deep down the rabbit hole of Dolphin's history of screenshot taking and found alternative ways to get good screenshots before that critical dev build from about a month ago. Hopefully a sysop takes a look and revises the screenshot section. I don't know how the mods here are. No one has responded to the talk page, but no one is telling me to stop my uploads, so I think I am doing something right here. Not sure if I should bring it up in the Discord or something. Want to keep a good first impression contributing to The Cutting Room Floor. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 02:22, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
Bad Image Captures
You know me finding improper capture images. However, I see a history with one (but found another with no history but suffering from the same fate):
I know in order to do proper screenshots, ROM data needs to be dumped. The article exists as if someone datamined, implying a dump exists. Makes me wonder if a special template for lost media should be proposed on Discord, kind of like Template:AlreadyJPEG. Kind of like a special maintenance category for Category:Prerelease_images. I know you are no mod, but has this sort of thing been proposed? --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 04:06, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- Kind of reminds me of BS F-Zero Grand Prix 2 SoundLink events not going preserved the last time I checked (Week 1 and Week 2 game data). Not talking about the practice version but the mode where you play the game during a live broadcast using the Satellaview service. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 04:24, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- I think the title screens were part of video data that was only broadcast live, not downloadable to a cart, so hasn't been preserved (at least publicly). So yeah it would make sense to have a template to note that, imo. Or at least just some text on the file pages. --Hiccup (talk) 20:20, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
Crashing Paper Mario TTYD
How did you crash Paper Mario TTYD to get File:PMTTYDCrashScreenScreenshot1.png and File:PMTTYDCrashScreenScreenshot2.png? Those screenshots need replacing. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 00:25, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
