MKDD Early Prototype Source

Hey there. Just wondering where did you find those early prototype images (The backview screen) for Mario Kart: Double Dash!! Thanks. --Pasta937 (talk) 17:21, 10 October 2018 (EDT)

Hello. I got it from here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ilFGPNlSGM (2:50) --Darkaiser (talk) 18:54, 10 October 2018 (EDT)

re:Crash 3 Demo Time Trial

You can probably force the game to think you already have the crystal using external tools, die and the time trial clock should be there. I don't remember if this works, though. -- ManDude (talk) 15:18, 13 March 2019 (EDT)

Don't forget to categorize

Please make sure you tag your uploads here. I've been going through hundreds of your uploads and adding them all by hand. You can find more information on how to add these tags in the help pages. --From: CounterDiving (talk) 15:05, 24 November 2019 (EST)

Crash Bandicoot Warped Pizza Hut demo

You wrote for the Crash Warped Pizza Hut demo page that the disc contains the demo of Midnight Run. How is this level accessed in the demo? The menu only allows you to play Under Pressure.

You're right, only Under Pressure is present in Pizza Hut demo. I must have misremembered since they're very similar demo builds. My bad, I'll see what can be done there soon. --Darkaiser (talk) 15:29, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
Although, apparently, "Midnight Run" can't be played in the demo, the level is actually present in the disc and can be played through hacks, this also applies to SCUS_94277 (Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine Demo Disc #15). SCUS_94289 (Toys "R" Us Test Drive Demo) is probably the only demo in which both the levels can be played without the need of hacks. --NEODYNE (talk) 16:15, 15 May 2021 (UTC)

Re: CTR Pre-release page, Concept Arts

The "One of the transitions features a zoomed-in road, which is not present in the final game" is technically accurate, but notably that shot is in the Aug 14th version of the intro! https://tcrf.net/Proto:Crash_Team_Racing/August_14th,_1999_build#Unused_Content

It's such a distinctive shot ("why the hell point the camera down at a flat road for that long?"), which made me pick up on it pretty fast seeing it in that concept art pile. Of the stuff in that photo, I'm pretty sure this is the only one that made it to a prototype before it got scrapped, unlike Polar's hat, with everything else making it into the final game. --SystemsReady

Re: CTR August 14th 1999 Proto

Under the unused strings section is UNLIMITED MODE, which appears to be the mode that Rubin is talking about here: https://tcrf.net/User:Darkaiser/Prerelease:CTR#Kart_Customization. Perhaps more context should be added to the Aug 14th page? --SystemsReady

Re: CTR Pre-release/August builds

The podium screenshots match up the Aug 14th proto perfectly, as in that prototype (https://tcrf.net/Proto:Crash_Team_Racing/August_14th,_1999_build#Podium) it's not that "pura isn't licking his paw" and that "tiny's hands and feet are different", it's actually that they're both frozen in the first frame of their victory animation! The losing anims hadn't been implemented yet.

Also, "Aku Aku has a purple effect around him, probably from an early shown up animation effect." is very likely because his appearance anims at that time used multicolored smoke, as stated in the same Aug prototype article. --SystemsReady

Thanks for the heads-up, I appreciate your help :) Don't worry, I definitely want to update the pre-release pages at some point with the current info we have, it's just that there is still so much unused content to document that I've decided to primarily focus on it for now. Regardless, feel free to to edit my WIP page anytime, it is always open to improvements. --Darkaiser (talk) 14:08, 8 January 2023 (UTC)

Re:Greetings

Hi, thanks for reaching out. I'm not in the TCRF Discord, but you can add me on Discord with the username "nitrusbrio" if you want to talk more. (I'm not well-versed on wiki talk pages - should I have put this on my own page?) -- PHlL_EGGTREE (talk) 20:58, 22 June 2023 (MST)
