Hidden Room
There is a hidden room on the "Midway" track which can be accessed by respawning at one of two blocked entrances when playing in "Practice Mode". One entrance is blocked by a closed door, while the other is hidden by a "Mountain Dew" drinks machine. The purpose of that room and why it was blocked but not removed from the final game is unclear. One could assume that it was designed to be a shortcut but scrapped because of the unfair advantage the player gains when using it. While the player can only see one single chair standing in the room, the player´s car reacts to some invisible objects on the floor when driving along the wall at which the chair stands next to. The fact that everything in the room is textured (besides the named invisible objects) implies that the decision not to use this part of the track was made in a later development state of this game.
Unused Audio
Hidden in the sound bank are some unused sounds that seem to be sampled from various Atari arcade games, all seemingly from the 80s. Purpose of all of them are unknown, but it could have been scrapped easter eggs for the Midway track.
