Character Customization
Facial Features
Within the game are leftover textures for scars and freckles as a character customization option. These were blanked out, starting with the 1.1.0 release.
Eyebrows
Additional pairs of eyebrows were also found within the files alongside functionality for the eyebrow UI to show 6 eyebrows at a time using L_BtnEyebrow04/L_BtnEyebrow05.

Tableturf Battle
Stages
An early version of the main vertical stage.
Early Tableturf Cards
The Mini Splatling and Octotrooper have older revisions, the latter might suggest the enemy card design could've matched the 2D art style instead of used 3D cutouts. They are used in the Tableturf Battle section of the menu in version 1.0.0
Alternate Tableturf Cards
During the Splatoon 3 Nintendo Switch Online profile picture waves, various cards were found to be different from the ones seen in the final game, with some showing off the weapon's Splatoon 2 design instead of the Splatoon 3 design.

The shading pattern on the Ink-Tinted Goggles were swapped.
The Octoling's pupils look similar to an Octoling Idol (Marina/Shiver)'s pupils.
The coloring, stripe position and line thickness of the Button-Clown Shirt were changed.
The Squiffer's color scheme was changed to be closer to the way the weapon appears in-game. Notably, the early version's color scheme does not match up with any of the Squiffer's designs throughout the series, as it has a darker secondary color for the bottle and a more vibrant blue on its plastic segments.
The Splat Brella's design was changed from its Splatoon 2 design to its new redesign.
The Tenta Brella's coloration is significantly less vibrant and does not have the yellow or black detailing seen in the final design. The position of the logo on the Tenta Brella was also moved up to account for the new stripes added to the final card.
The yellow parts of the shoes were changed to green. Oddly, the final version has a small coloring error.
The socks of the School Shoes + Hi Socks were incorrectly colored white in the early version, then corrected.
The strings attached to the Party Hard Hat were added to the final card art.
The Slosher's color scheme was changed from resembling its Splatoon 2 design to its new redesign.
The Explosher's exhaust pipe was changed from silver to gold; it went from resembling its Splatoon 2 design to its new redesign.
The dashed lights on the Nautilus 47 were changed from a gray to the Octoling's ink color.
The Inkling's eye color was slightly changed between versions. |
Card Sleeves
An early version of Callie's unlockable card sleeve.
Salmon Run
Badges
Maws, Steelhead, Flyfish, Scrapper, Steel Eel and Drizzler have early badges that display in stats and/or when splatted by them. These are almost identical to their icons used in SplatNet 2 in the previous game; the final version of the game uses new, more detailed icons. The rest of the Salmonids have a near-identical generic icon.
Capsules
Early "capsules" for dispensing prizes at the front counter in Grizzco. Only pink ones seem to exist.
Splatfest
The rice and bread icons from a Splatfest in Splatoon that were repurposed as dummy images in Splatoon 2 return in this game with a new coat of paint. They're used as dummy icons for the Lobby menu layout alongside a new orange square icon representing team Charlie.
A dummy Splatfest image that was also present in Splatoon 2 was updated in this game, now featuring a boiled egg represented by the Charlie team. The art style looks somewhat closer to the style of Splatoon's Splatfest art, which hasn't been used in any subsequent games.
Side Order
Color Chip Collection graphics
Among the Color Chip Collection tip images is this image marked for the "FarBulletSizeUp" ability, which doesn't exist. It appears to feature an unfinished version of Wide-Open.Floor.

Missing Texture Icons

An early revision of the lobby terminal screen, with a placeholder menu.
DLC Wave 1
There is an unused file in the textures of "RefMat_Fld_CanolaFirework.bfres.zs" (which has no model and no animations) called "MiiVrsDummy_Alb.png," which seems to have Li'l Judd's face slapped on.
