Translated a bunch of debug menu stuff. I assume from the screenshot it was all romanized Japanese. Did the best I could; a lot of compounds are ambiguous without knowing the kanji, but most of the difficulty came from the fact that I've never played this game and have no idea what most of these places and things are called in English. --Yumemisama 01:34, 23 April 2011 (EDT)
It's a shame the info about the Debug Menu wasn't ported over here, because DS Ultimate seems to be permanently dead (or so it says). Did anyone mess with this or copy the information before it was taken down? --Ninetales 17:54, 22 October 2010 (EDT)

European Version.
So apparently, the U.S. version was rushed and the Japanese version had time to rebalance a few things, but the European version was released later. TMK doesn't really mention it in their JPN / US comparison, but they do say on their stats page that the European version's enemies have the same stats as the Japanese one. So what about all those other regional changes in the game? LinkTheLefty 16:19, 12 June 2013 (EDT)
- I believe the EU version has the music box after the credits like the JP version, but it's only hearsay. N. Onymous (talk) 16:26, 22 May 2014 (EDT)
Another Unused Enemy?
Someone over at the Spriters Resource ripped graphics of a Whomp from Super Mario 64 and labeled it as unused. It's been ages since I've played this game, but I don't think I remember a Whomp in the game. It looks like it could have been either an enemy or overworld obstacle. LinkTheLefty 00:53, 14 July 2013 (EDT)
- I've played it recently, and even looked through a list of enemies to double-check, and Whomp is definitely not an enemy in this game. --AquaBat 01:17, 14 July 2013 (EDT)
- Excellent. Well, judging from the sprites covered so far, and the fact that is doesn't exist as an enemy name, I would think it's more likely to have been an overworld character like those large Koopas in the first game rather than anything with legit enemy data. But I suppose we'll see as more can hopefully be uncovered. LinkTheLefty 00:01, 15 July 2013 (EDT)

BeanBean Kingdom and Other Unused Sprites
Looking on The Spriters Resource, there are quite a few unused sprites, including what looks like a BeanBean Kingdom town: http://www.spriters-resource.com/fullview/46939/
These also look like they could be test maps of some sort. --Kimimaru (talk) 6:08, 26 January 2016 (EDT)
Unused Bro Item?
A couple weeks ago I saw this in images.
https://www.mariowiki.com/images/8/8b/Mlpit_purple_shell_2_e3trailer.jpg
it's called the "spike shell" is it still in the files of the game?— The preceding unsigned comment was added by BetaTalk64 (talk • contribs)
- mfset_AltmN.dat lists the names for Bros. Items - after the Red Shell entry is one for something called "TEMP". I would wager that it's the spike shell, but who knows if it's still functional, and even if so how to select it. Moof (talk) 06:10, 9 October 2018 (EDT)
Title Screen Swirl Color
So, in the English and Korean versions there is a swirl that appears behind the logo and on the regional differences page is shows that the English ones are white and the Korean one is black. ""BUT"", I then noticed when I booted both versions up again, the swirl was blue (I am not making a joke here, seriously).
What does this mean exactly? Were my emulator settings different before or is it some kind of feature in the game where it changes? I don't know. TCRFJNPoop (talk) 18:03, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
