Revisional Differences?

There's two well-known longplays of the game on YouTube, and the seem to display some audio differences. The most widely known of the versions seen here features the remixed western music, and in the sequence where you get laid with the Bartender's daughter, there is (deliberately bad) romantic music with a singer scat-singing. The other longplay, featured here, features a more dramatic opening, and during the sequence where you get laid, there are some... odd sounds, presumably being made by The Man With No Name and the Bartender's daughter. However, I can't find heads or tails as to why there's seemingly two different versions of the game. If someone can look into this, please be my guest. Camwoodstock (talk) 19:40, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

The first longplay linked is from the original CD-TV version, and the other is from the PC port. It's in the title of both videos, but it's hard to tell them apart from just gameplay, as there are no differences at all other than the audio mentioned. I'll investigate about this further. --DyNamo1828 (talk) 16:56, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
Hi! The audio file for the moaning sounds – the one you mentioned being used in the CD-TV version – is still present in the PC version, at SAL\BONKFX; with the used romantic scat song being in JUSTIN\BONKSONGFX. (you can play them in foobar2000 if you append the extension .8svx to the end of the filename) --Cebola (Talk) 17:11, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
What the hell! At about 23-25 minutes into both videos, the gang member says lines I put on this page as unused but I swear that that guy says on death something about a cigarette not 'I'm not pleased about this at all.' Am I misremembering or what? I might try the copy I downloaded and see if he says that. --Infinity48 (talk) 16:58, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

More unused CD Audio

The second audio track in the disc − the "Animals in Motion" one − has a lot of alternate takes, outtakes and talks of the VA with (who I assume is) one of the devs; it's like they put the whole recording session in there. Not sure how to go about documenting it, since it's all mixed up with lines that are used in-game. --Cebola (Talk) 20:26, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

What do I use to convert the game's animations to GIF files?

I have found an alternative 'Where Now?' screen under WHERENOWANIM in the OUT folder, how do I extract this? I have gotten it in-game simply by copying the file over to the ENGLISH folder and changing its filename to the filename of the final 'Where Now?' screen but I can't figure out any way of converting it into a format that can be put on TCRF while retaining the animation. Hi. I know it's a little late, but I've successfully extracted game animations. They are stored as unnamed .iff files, which can be converted/extracted using this tool: https://github.com/rheit/iff2gif. It's difficult to set up, however, so as soon as I can, I'm going to upload all the assets I have gotten onto a website. I can send a link when it's ready. Timing couldn’t be more perfect on this - I’ve been wanting to make a rewrite of the game for modern computers for a while now (smaller file size, no emulator fiddling-with necessary). I got up to figuring out how I’d go about converting the game’s .bin to an ISO image to take files from, so this would be incredibly useful. Please PLEASE link me when done! Thank you!!
And also once I make my own framework for remaking Delta 4 Interactive games in, I may wanna know how I can get assets from Psycho Killer, etc. too! Make it a whole self-contained rewrite collection possibly. Dungeonation (talk) 23:19, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
Sounds cool! I've just put up the archive at https://halfofbilly.com/TTWNN.html . It seems to be complete, but because of the nature of the files there still may be missing assets. If that's the case, feel free to shoot me a message here or via email. Good luck! HalfOfBilly (talk) 20:45, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
Did you manage to complete the rewrite? I'd love to try it if it's done. --Gayming Moment (talk) 10:27, 17 February 2024 (UTC)

Some oddities with filenames

There are some unusual filenames in the game. For example, files for playing cards with the bartender are in the folder '/SAL/LADY/' and all the files of the cigarette man talking are all start their filenames with 'CLINT'. --Infinity48 (talk) 15:34, 30 January 2021 (UTC)

I think the Man With The Cigarette could've easily been known as "Clint" in development--given he's pretty clearly a parody of Clint Eastwood. But I have NO IDEA why the Bartender is named "Lady"... Camwoodstock (talk) 15:51, 30 January 2021 (UTC)

Amiga version assets in dos version

How would i port the assets unique to the amiga version (different mouse cursor, different sounds, ...) to an image file for the dos version to replace the assets in that one? WhenThe (talk) 22:42, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
