This game was stuffed away in a cardboard box and found 30 years later in a garage
This game was never completed and/or given a public release.
As a result of this, keep in mind that the developers might have used or deleted some of the content featured here, had the game actually been released.

They Hunger: Lost Souls is the sequel to the They Hunger trilogy (a set of Half-Life 1 mods released from 1999-2001) that was in development starting in 2005 before getting canceled sometime between 2009-10.

Two builds are known to exist. This page covers the later one, dated April 2, 2008. Note that both of these builds run on older versions of the Source Engine and may not work without modifications.

So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
  • A couple of unused models, such as some zombies.
  • There are leftovers from Lost Coast.
  • An "anims" folder can be found within the 2008 build's files. Document this.
  • Verify if the priest model is used in any maps.

mossma2

A reskinned Judith Mossman model with blonde hair can be found in the main models directory as mossma2.mdl. This character's purpose is not known, as by the time the build released, there was no story in place.

characters\Hostage_04

A reskinned "Cohrt" hostage from Counter-Strike Source looking like a priest. The provided JPEG has the reskinned model stand next to the original hostage model.
