Monsters, Inc. is a mediocre platformer based on the Pixar film of the same name, created late into the Game Boy Color's lifespan.

Level Select

Monsters, Inc. GBC level select.PNG

While a level select is programmed into the game, the password the game checks for to access it (AAAA) is invalid because the password system does not use vowels. To change this, alter the values between ROM addresses 0x72C86 to 0x72C89 in the US version to any suitable password.

Alternatively, use the Game Genie code

42C-869-E6F
42C-879-E6F
42C-889-E6F
42C-899-E6F

to access it by entering BBBB on the password screen.

Alternatively, Game Genie code 051-7DF-E6A can be used to boot straight into the menu.

Options Menu

An unused options menu, which is a leftover from SpongeBob SquarePants: Legend of the Lost Spatula, can be accessed with Game Genie code 031-7DF-E6A.

Regional Differences

In the German version, the colors on the Game Boy Color warning screen were, for some reason, inverted.
