This is a sub-page of Persona 5 Royal.

Hmmm...
To do:
placeholders, among other things. Also, more new stuff from the remaster.

Sub-Page

Unused Character Portraits
I wonder if Akechi drops the act when he's alone.

Early UI

All of this is found in the remaster.

Title Screen

P5R-P5a3TITLE.png

A placeholder Persona 5 title screen, reading α5. It uses concept art of the protagonist from here. This image was used as the title screen in the December 2015 beta of the original game, making this a pretty old leftover. Considering that α is the alpha symbol, the α5 may stand for "Alpha 5."

P5R-P5Rb1-TITLE TEST.png

A placeholder Persona 5 Royal title screen, reading β1, with the Phantom Thieves crudely drawn. Considering that β is the beta symbol, the β1 may stand for "Beta 1." There's an Options: Shortcut displayed in front, which leads to a debug mode.

An early time display indicator. The Morning graphic is also left over in Catherine: Full Body.

Text Window

P5Rfiber-textbox1.png
P5Rfiber-textbox2.png

Spritesheets for an early and crude-looking dialogue window, looking very similar to Catherine's UI.

Smartphone UI

P5Rfiber-smartphone1.png

A basic UI of a smartphone interface with apps.

P5Rfiber-smartphone2.png

Likely a chat display. Note the two names on the top-left corner: ハルコ (Haruko) and 仮:アケチ (Temp: Akechi).

Get EXP

P5R-p5-getexp.png

A texture of something with an EXP counter. It's used for an unused code for a display of a wanted poster with an EXP counter from the original PS3 version.

Get Item

A texture for an unused Get Item display.

Jose's Shop

P5R-placeholdermementosshop.png P5R-MEMENTOS POINT BG.png

Placeholder UI for Jose's shop, one for his stamp collection, the other for the cognition change.

Check Prompt

P5R-Checkprompt.png

A "Check" prompt from Persona 4 Golden, as seen and used in early development footage.

Unused Tutorial Images

P5R UnusedPalaceScreenshot1.png P5R UnusedPalaceScreenshot2.png

Found among the tutorial images for palaces are two screenshots in Kamoshida's Palace of being seen by shadows and using auto-recover. They both take place on 4/2, an impossible date in-game, and have 仮 (Temp.) in the center of them. In the first one a mouse cursor is in the around the upper-right area of the image.

Showtime Stickers

Showtimes would have logos show up at some point, either in-game or in the Thieves Den.

Chat

Stamps

P5R-unusedstamps.png

It seems that stamps were going to be a thing alongside photos, but were scrapped early on, given the 仮 (Temp.) icons on all of them; perhaps they were meant to be redrawn. With the exception of the Morgana stamp, the stamps all originated from LINE, a social network service popular in Japan.

Early Photo

Early Final
P5R-early-chatphoto.png P5R-final-chatphoto.png

An early version of the first chat photo of the team celebrating their first success. The photo is unshaded, Ryuji is smirking instead of just smiling, the protagonist doesn't have his glasses on and is eating with a spoon instead of drinking from a cup, Morgana is eating a plate of beans(?), and Ann is enjoying a smaller plate of sweets.

Flashbacks

P5R-unused-flashback-1.png

A flashback of the founding members of the Phantom Thieves celebrating their first success at a fancy hotel. It is used in an unused early cutscene of Maruki's confidant.

P5R-unused-flashback-2.png

A flashback of Kasumi confronting herself. Maruki's palace in this shot looks very different: the floor and walls are black, or a very dark color, and there are tables set up.

P5R-unused-flashback-3.png

Flashback of the protagonist, Sae, and Akechi in Shibuya, from when Akechi suddenly appears on Christmas Eve.

P5R-unused-flashback-4.png

Flashback of Maruki looking up, and behind him a man in a suit. Behind a large (Temp) icon, the background is darker and with text, presumably scrolling: praise thee who walks the road of thorns.

P5R-unused-flashback-5.png

A flashback of the protagonist and Sae, meeting up on Christmas Eve.

P5R-unused-flashback-6.png

A flashback of a butterfly, with a large (Temp) icon.

P5R-unused-flashback-7.png

A flashback of Maruki's Palace from the outside in Odaiba, with a large (Temp) icon.

P5R-unused-flashback-8.png

A shot of the thieves facing Cendrillon in an early revision of the auditorium, with a large (Temp) icon.

P5R-unused-flashback-9.png

Another flashback shot of the protagonist, Sae, and Akechi in Shibuya, from when Akechi suddenly appears on Christmas Eve.

P5R-unused-flashback-10.png

An alternate flashback shot of the protagonist and Sae, meeting up on Christmas Eve.

P5R-unused-flashback-11.png

A flashback of the protagonist and Akechi standing, from when deciding if you should face Maruki. Besides the large (Temp) icon, there appears to be Christmas decorations set up in LeBlanc.

P5R-unused-flashback-12.png

Another alternate flashback shot of the protagonist and Sae, meeting up on Christmas Eve.

P5R-unused-flashback-13.png

A flashback of the protagonist and Akechi standing, from when deciding if you should face Maruki.

P5R-unused-flashback-14.png

A flashback of Kasumi on the floor with a Byakhee looking down at her in an earlier revision of the Palace. This flashback is used in an unused cutscene where Joker, Akechi, and herself are wondering who is the Palace ruler.

Thieves Den

Gallery

Placeholder and removed images of concept art. More information here.

Movie Thumbnails

Thumbnails for removed movies in the Thieves Den. More information here.

A temporary thumbnail for a cutscene labelled 66. Good Ending. By the game's order, this would have been between the original ending and the missing Something's Not Right cutscene.

P5R-missingimage-temp-goodending.png

Metaverse

MetaNav Eye

P5R-ISEKAI EYE.png

A large black and white MetaNav icon, supposedly used for a metaverse transition.

Minor Arcana Gems

A set of 4 images of Gems with the minor Arcana Symbols from Persona 3 on them. Although their planned use is currently unknown, these were found alongside the cut "Get Item" UI element, so they may have something to do with that.

Misc. Graphics

An unused scroll-like texture found alongside the previous gems. Notably called a map within the game's files.
