Differences
Overall
- All levels are unlocked by default.
- Aviailable languages are English, (Quebec) French and (Latin American) Spanish. While a Portuguese option is also available, it does not work properly, displaying the Latin American Spanish logo and English text.
Menus
- The title screen has noticeable differences:
- The sky in the background is a solid color rather than a separate image.
- The canyons are aligned differently, and have more colors.
- The logo is aligned differently, and it does not shrink or increase upon entering or exiting the language selection menu.
- There is no "© 2014 DISNEY" string below the logo.
- The Quebec French and Latin American Spanish logos are not aligned properly.
- The text in the profile selection menu is not aligned correctly, which also happens in the 1726 and 1252 prototypes.
- There is no background image seen inside the shutters in the profile selection, mission selection and credits screens, only a solid black background. This also happens in the 1726 and 1252 prototypes.
- No animation plays when selecting a profile.
- There are no button prompts in the lower half of the bottom screen. This also happens in the 1726 prototype.
- The top shutter graphic does not seem to have been created with the top screen in mind. As such, upon entering the mission selection, statistics and credits menus, the top screen fades to black (the color of the background) rather than red.
- The time record text in the mission selection screens is aligned differently.
- The text in the statistics menu is aligned differently.
- There is no shutter transition from gameplay to the results screen.
- Several differences are noted in the game's credits:
- There is an erroneous "ï¿" string before the credits start. This was corrected in the 1726 prototype.
- Under "Nintendo DS Adaptations", there are separate listings for Dino Hatzopoulos under "Artist" and "Audio Support". In the UNKNOWN prototype, these are combined into "Artist & Audio".
- Under the Digital Funk Machine credits, Shirley X. Zhou, one of the artists, is credited as just Shirley Zhou. Dino Hatzopoulos is also erroneously listed here.
- Some of the Disney Interactive Studios credits, which include the Franchise Management and Voice Actor credits, are completely missing, as listed below:

Gameplay
- An arrow is displayed instead of an A button prompt in dialogue.
- The camera is zoomed a little closer to the player upon starting the Rookie Tryout Training Academy mission.
- It's not immediately possible to enter inputs upon starting the Race for Supremacy Training Academy mission.
- Pinecone uses a different model, which has a much less detailed rake, as well as slightly different colors in the arm and wheels. It is also used in the 1726 and 1252 prototypes.
1724 - 1252 | UNKNOWN |
---|---|
- The icon for Success Badges originally lacked wings. This earlier icon is also used in the 1726 prototype.
1724 - 1726 | 1252 - UNKNOWN |
---|---|
- Unknown differences in the Augerin Canyon and Fusel Lodge landscape textureless models and collision data. For the models, the former has differences in all files, while the latter has differences in five: fusellodge_A4.nsmbd, fusellodge_B4.nsmbd, fusellodge_C2.nsmbd, fusellodge_C4.nsmbd and fusellodge_E6.nsmbd. Of these five, the former four would get new versions in 1726, which match later prototypes, but the latter would only get updated in the UNKNOWN prototype.
- The following textured landscape models have unknown differences compared to later prototypes and the final game: ac_C3prp.nsbmd, ac_C4prp.nsbmd, ac_D4prp.nsbmd, fusellodge_D1prp.nsbmd. While the former three would be updated in 1726, the latter stayed the same until the UNKNOWN prototype.
Unused Text
While the game's Portuguese text does not work, it can still be found within the game's ARM9 data, starting from offset 0x8AB9E.
