Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: There are no proper methods to preview these materials that can be found inside the game files:
  • 5 map files of the Hospital section from Silent Hill: Origins.
    • Maybe these maps could be re-inserted in-game as the files still contains the map linker.
  • The files of the VHS recordings cutscenes.
  • Unused UI elements for the PS2 version referring to a language and aspect ratio and other unused ones in the PSP version that can't be known or even guessed what they are intended for.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is a survival horror video game, a reimagination of the first installment of the Silent Hill series.

Unused Graphics

Unused Psychological Warning Screen

An unused psychological warning screen can be found in the game files named as "ui_psychologywarninghis.jpg". The unused version has a different font size, the first line says "WARNING" instead of "PSYCHOLOGY WARNING" and shows a repeated text saying "WARNING" all over the background.

The used PSP version uses the early background with "WARNING" text all over it and is even localized in all other language in this version.

Unused Harry and Cheryl Photo

The filename "ui_photo_harryandcheryl.jpg" indicates that at some point the player would have received this image on their phone as the prefix "ui_photo_*.jpg" are use for images that Harry receives on his phone. The photo appears on a frame and frozen during the cutscene previous to the sixth theraphy session.

The song with the filename of "afx_explore" is a part of the song "Tribal Curse" from Silent Hill: Origins, and the song with the filename of "afx_drk" sounds to be a remix of the song "Deep Thoughts" also from Origins.

"afx_drk" can be listen during the first therapy session in an E3 gameplay.
