Unused Graphics

SQ1-VGA-Load Nav Droid.png

In the game, the nav droid in the space cruiser is automatically loaded. It appears that the player would have done it themselves like in the original game.

SQ1-VGA-Orat Chow.png

An unused death graphic that was likely removed due to the Purina Chow reference, as Sierra had gotten in trouble for including one in the fourth game half a year earlier.

Keronian Ale

SQ1 VGA-Keronian Ale.png

In the original game, Keronian Ale was given to the player as an inventory item they could drink from. In this remake, Roger automatically drinks and gives it back without appearing in the inventory. Despite this, it still has an entry as an inventory item in the game. Its view was deleted from the game, but a cursor icon and the following text string remain:

Ummm! Keronian Ale!

Screenshots

In the original release of this remake, ZZ Top could be found playing inside the Rocket Bar, like in the original game. Since this was done without ZZ Top's authorization, and they managed to find out about it a couple of years after the game's release, the management for ZZ Top threatened a lawsuit against Sierra. Sierra decided to shrink Dusty and Billy to a microscopic size, while Frank was given pink hair and a long elephant nose. The ZZ Top logo on Frank's drum was also replaced with the Sierra logo. The original graphics still remain inside the revised versions and can be reactivated by deleting the replacement views for views 433 and 533.
