Crash handler

I've been playing a hack of this game (Rockman 4 Minus Infinity) and ran into a crash handler: http://abload.de/img/rockman4minusinfinitygisfq.png Does anyone know if it was present in the original game, or was added in the hack? ~y (talk) 11:25, 15 November 2013 (EST)

yes, it's in hack only--Cah4e3 (talk) 18:50, 18 October 2015 (EDT)

"Completely Empty Corridor"

Both Shesez and myself have videos that seem to indicate the unused area isn't entirely empty as the current article says. There seems to be a wall-like object (not an actual "wall") that appears to be moving. Before I edited the page, I just wanted to confirm this info should actually be added, and that I'm not missing a detail someone else caught? 2B-20-43-48-52-49-53-54-20-2B (talk) 17:28, 23 August 2020 (UTC)

There's nothing there. It's just a double-sized room – or two screens – of nothing at all. The reason it seems like the player gets "stuck" is because the camera is scrolling. I actually turned the empty room into a "normal" room in this video, just to make sure. There's no invisible object or moving wall there. It's just an ordinary, empty room.

Rev A?

Does anyone know the differences between Mega Man 4 (USA) and mega Man 4 (USA) (Rev A) ?

Thank you MetHy (talk)

I looked into it. Apparently, exactly one character was changed between the two ROM dumps: the character at $5975A was changed from FF to 00.
It's in the vicinity of the train graphics from the ending, but I'm not sure it actually is part of that set of tiles. If so, it changed a line of 8 pixels from Color 0 to Color 3. Why they'd need to revise the game just for that is beyond me.

I realized I had a way to compare both revisions myself and this is the only difference indeed, was about to post about it when I saw your reply. This is very weird indeed. It's part of the intro train graphics, but I can't say if it's used or where either. MetHy (talk)
Correction: it's located next to the train graphics but I think it may be part of the stage select menu, or part of the robot masters introduction screens right after that; or at least planned for it, maybe not used? MetHy (talk)

Alternate "READY" tiles?

While reading through the article, I noticed it didn't mention an interesting piece of unused data I read about some time ago.

MegaMan4AlternateREADY.gif

This variant of the "READY" text is loaded in Bright Man's stage but doesn't seem to ever appear in-game. And even if it did, it would make for a nice oddity. Unfortunately, I can't remember where I initially learned about this. --PepsiArmor (talk) 06:07, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
