Unused Videos

I was impressed by the "Stargate" video in Sonic Mega Collection, so i searched in the ROM and TA-DAH!!! [1] [2]--Verne94 09:26, 17 July 2011 (EDT)

Allow me to fix that. Tanks 22:42, 17 July 2011 (EDT)

You know that unused song found a while ago? Yeah, I think it's dev kit remains Super Monkey Ball 2 has been recently confirmed to have this tune (and possibly the video, I haven't checked). --From: divingkataetheweirdo 20:05, 28 June 2012 (EDT)

Important!

It Seems that you can unlock 'The Ooze' and 'Comix Zone' by having a Sonic Heroes Save File. In fact i'm pretty sure i played both of them on the PAL version of the Game. SamuelEarl666 11:37, 21 August 2012 (EDT)

I don't have my GameCube stuff right now but I know I had both save files on at some point and never got Comix Zone or The Ooze on NTSC-U. Just to avoid one potential mistake, are you talking about the GameCube version? - Andlabs 13:21, 21 August 2012 (EDT)

Sorry, I must of Played the 'Plus' version. I'll try it anyway. Maybe its worth mentioning this stuff in the article to avoid confusion between the Two. SamuelEarl666 14:34, 21 August 2012 (EDT)

Translation of final picture in article

あそんでくれて ありがとう

たくさんあそべる 「ソニック・メガコレクション」

この冬発売予定 まっててね!

In English, this means (roughly):

Thank you for playing.

You can play many games in Sonic Mega Collection.

Planned release is this winter, can you wait!

However, someone more fluent should check this before adding it to the article since I'm not 100% certain about the meaning of まっててね. I'm confident the rest of it is accurate though.

Thank you for playing.
Hang on for the eminently playable Sonic Mega Collection,
planned for release this winter!

まってて means "keep waiting". :) Also, don't forget to sign your comments!

Thanks for the help! And the reminder. I've used wikis before but this time I just plain forgot to sign. I'll be more careful in the future. Thanks again :)

More unused music?

Found this while listening to game music on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1L3B2L7gIM

It sounds fairly legit, but i doubt the name (Tutorial) is correct. It's more likely to be another Sofdec or devkit leftover. Krvavi Abadas (talk) 02:08, 22 July 2014 (EDT)

Tokyo Toy Show

According to Yuji Naka, the very first prototype shown to the public at the 1990 Tokyo Toy Show was planned to be an unlockable extra somewhere in this game. Maybe worth mentioning, even the fact that SEGA lost the ROM file for it so it couldn't be done.

Considering there's nothing about this in the game's data, it would go on the prerelease section at best. Part of me thinks it's because Sega threw out carts, floppies, hard drives, and even back-up tapes constantly. --From: divingkataetheweirdo (talk) 21:21, 22 February 2018 (EST)
