Unused microgames and souveniers?

Looking through the debug menu, I found three things. One if definately unused, but I'm not sure about the other two.

First one is "SEXY_HARMONICA" (No. 214 on the debug menu). I have no idea how to control this, though it probably involves blowing into the mic. Music plays when it starts, and then it just stops.

Second is "TOUCH_DOLL" (No. 195). There's... this guy. He blinks and occasionally winks with a star coming out of his eye. Touching the photo on the bottom of the screen hurts him. Touching him anywhere makes him grunt and squint his eyes, and touching him a lot makes him angry. Touching his glasses cracks them. Touching his mouth makes him blush. Touching his forehead or hair makes him cry.

This last one is obviously unused. "TEST_BOSS" (No. 183) is pretty much just NINE_PUZZLE with the caption "Boss Test!"

SEXY_HARMONICA is an unlockable minigame called "Play By Ear", while NINE_PUZZLE would be "Quite Puzzled" (Mona microgame). It looks like TOUCH_DOLL is a Japan-only minigame. I'll double-check on this. -Einstein95 (talk) 13:08, 17 November 2013 (EST)

Mona Pizza song

Since we're going into a lot of detail with this game... Was the music video's text translated to inaccessible languages? Is there any way to force it to load in those versions? What version of Twisted, if any, do Chinese and Korean Touched check for? Theclaw (talk) 10:18, 1 April 2014 (EDT)

I am not sure, but they did not remove it in said other versions. If you copy a US or JPN save file with it to one of those inaccessible versions, you can play the song. But I'm not sure if it's actually translated or if it's just the different characters replacing the English characters, meaning the lyrics aren't accurate. --8SomaCruzes (talk) 10:51, 1 April 2014 (EDT)
You can enable it by inserting WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! (Chinese version, NOT Twisted) in the GBA slot in Chinese version.

You can unlock the toy at any version with the AR code "Everything unlocked" in order to check the european version. And, yes, it was translated (subtitled) to other languages.--ltlynx (talk) 13:24, 11 September 2016 (EST)

I looked at all the roms in a hex editor, and I am reasonably certain of the following...
Around 0x00006000 to 0x00007000, the rom stores the Title ID of the GBA game it looks for to unlock Mona Pizza.
Japanese Rev 0,1,2, and 3 all look for RZWJ, WarioWare: Twisted! Japanese version.
USA looks for RZWE, WarioWare: Twisted! USA version.
Europe looks for RZWP, WarioWare: Twisted! unreleased European version.
China and China (Debug) look for AZWC, WarioWare, Inc. Mega Party Games$! Chinese / iQue version.
And the USA/Europe Kiosk Demos, Korean version, and DSiWare ports all seem to exclude this line of code in their roms.

"Version differences"

I haven't seen any noticable differences in the DSiWare download, excluding the fact that it's physically impossible to unlock the Mona Pizza video for obvious reasons, but I did notice a glitch that I had never encountered in the retail version.

In the Hardcore Megamix, which only uses one heart, occasionally after winning a microgame, the heart will disappear as the win animation and music plays, then as the next microgame starts, another heart is added. This can occur repeatedly until you have four functioning hearts when you were meant to only have one. And if you lose one of these hearts, there's a chance it will simply reappear.

I would like it if anyone could replicate this glitch on their download, and also make sure it doesn't occur in the retail version in case I simply never experienced it.

EDIT: I know for a fact that there was absolutely no music in the "Ssh!" microgame in the retail version yet in the download version it uses the basic tapping noises. I need someone to confirm this.

Additionally, the glitch I mentioned above may be present in all instances of the elevator bears, including when you're replaying a single microgame from the Album.

EDIT 2: I just realized that the text in Crygor's intro video is restored! The European regional changes aren't present so it can't simply be the European version, they actually went in and restored the text. --AquaBat (talk) 23:18, 14 April 2016 (EDT)

No, the glitch is only present in the Hardcore Mix, and It's in the downloadable version. It only happens with boss microgames, because those give you extra lives. I believe it's supposed to show a 1-UP image, but the elevator bears don't have any. I don't have the retail version, but I'm planning on getting it within the next week or so, so I'd be happy to investigate there. Also, if it helps, I'm using the USA downloadable version on a USA 3DS console, and I'll get a USA retail cart soon. Edit 1: Yes, the "Ssh!" microgame does have the tapping music in the downloadable version. Someone should check for all of this in the Wii U version. Really, it could be there too. 3DS version

Mona Pizza does not exist in this version. Let me explain it (I'll do in spanish first and in english then). (Thanks to Ciencia al poder and DarkChaosBlast for helping me).

SPANISH

Empiezo hablando en español porque es mi lengua materna y como me expreso más cómodamente. En inglés seguramente omita datos y he hecho algunos descubrimientos interesantes que no quiero que se pierdan por expresarme mal.

El primer paso fue desbloquear el juguete, lo cual no fue difícil. Se puede hacer con DeSmuME y las ROM de USA o con Action Replay. Nota: este archivo de partida guardada se puede usar con una ROM europea para tener el juguete Mona Pizza desbloqueado.

Después, había que acceder a la partida de 3DS. Esto se hizo con FBI, accediendo al fichero de los datos guardados y extrayéndolo tal cual está guardado. El save, llamado public.sav, tiene un encabezado que supongo que es propio de 3DS, 5 bloques para la partida guardada (a diferencia de la versión de DS, que tiene 8 bloques. En ambos casos, todos los bloques tienen el mismo encabezado y el mismo tamaño) y un montón de texto aleatorio al final (supongo que es aleatorio, puede que me equivoque).

Para inyectar la partida, copié 5 bloques de la partida que tenía solo Mona Pizza desbloqueado (incluyendo el que había sido sobrescrito más recientemente) y los pegué sustituyendo los bloques de la partida de 3DS. Al ejecutar el juego en 3DS, vi que estaba desbloqueado en su lugar Hombre volador (Air Dude). Es decir: las "flags" de la sala de juegos han cambiado. Esto lo corroboré con la partida de un amigo que tenía casi todos los juguetes ya que, al introducir su partida en la 3DS, los juguetes de la sala variaban.

Por tanto, probé entonces con la partida modificada con Action Replay. Lo que hace el truco de "desbloquear todo" es sustituir todos los bytes de la partida (excepto unos pocos relevantes en el encabezado) por FF. Es decir, al introducir esta partida en la 3DS, todo debería quedar desbloqueado. ¿Y cuál fue mi sorpresa? Tenía TODO menos Mona Pizza. Por tanto, esto demuestra que Mona Pizza ha sido eliminado de esta versión del juego.

Siento si alguien cree que he dado muchos rodeos y explicaciones innecesarias, pero es mi primera gran aportación a esta comunidad y estoy realmente emocionado. Espero que mi información sea de utilidad.

ENGLISH (Google Translator is my friend)

The first step was to unlock the toy, which was not difficult. It can be done with DeSmuME and the USA ROMs or with Action Replay. Note: this saved game file can be used with an european ROM in order to have Mona Pizza unlocked.

Then, I had to access to the 3DS save. This was done with FBI, accessing the file of the saved game data and extracting it as it was. The save, named as public.sav, has a header I assume is 3DS stuff, 5 blocks for the saved game (unlike the DS version, which has 8 blocks. In both cases, all blocks have the same header and the same size) and lots of random text at the end (I guess it's random, I may be wrong).

To inject the game, I copied 5 blocks of the save that only had Mona Pizza unlocked (including the block that had been overwritten more recently) and pasted them replacing the blocks of the 3DS game. When I ran the game on 3DS, I saw that, in its place, it was unlocked Air Dude. In other words, the flags of the game room have changed. This was corroborated using the save file of a friend who had almost all the toys because, when introducing his save in the 3DS, the toys of the room changed.

I tried then with the game modified with Action Replay. The "everything unlocked" cheat replaces all the bytes of the game (except a few relevant ones in the header) by FF. That is, everything should be unlocked even in the 3DS version. What then? I had EVERYTHING unlocked but Mona Pizza. Therefore, this proves that Mona Pizza has been removed from this version of the game.

I am sorry if anyone believes that I have given too many unnecessary explanations, but this is my first significant contribution to this community and I'm really excited. I hope my information is useful.

nccarc archives

Does anyone know how to open the nccarc archives in this game? I've LZSS decompressed them, but the resultant files don't seem to be the same as *arc files in other games. Two example files. Hex editor screenshot. --Hiccup (talk) 09:14, 19 August 2017 (EDT)

Build Dates

I added the remainder of the build dates that I was able to find. I hypothesize that the following do not have debug menus in their roms: EU and US demos, Korean version, all DSiWare ports, and the Japanese Wii U Virtual Console version. All those and the Chinese retail version seem to lack "BUILD" dates as well. I was not able to figure out where the game retrieves the "SDK" and "NNS" build dates. My hunch is that they aren't in the roms without debug menus. Some of these are hard to come by, so if you want to take a crack at datamining and need a specific build email me. --ChainSwordCS (talk) 05:48, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

The Japanese Wii U Virtual Console rom is the same as Japanese Rev 3, I don't know if that was on a cartridge or recompiled for the VC release for some reason. Also it makes sense that J Rev 1 and Rev 2 have the same build date, only a handful of bytes in the header changed: Version Number, Normal card control register settings, Secure card control register settings, and Header CRC. --ChainSwordCS (talk) 19:35, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
