King of Fighters R-2 is a fighting game on the Neo Geo Pocket Color, based on King of Fighters '98. As such, this game curiously includes Kasumi on its roster, who wouldn't be in any version of '98 proper for some nine more years.
Stage name
An unused item from the Training menu stored at 4BD85 and 11B7FF, "SPECIAL" refers to a stage seen only when playing Making mode. In said mode, it is the seventh and final stage, an icy setting with the Blacknoah in the background.
