So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?

It all began in '94. This franchise, that is; the in-universe tournament itself, not so much. Received a PS2 remake (Re-Bout) in Japan as celebration of the franchise's 10th anniversary.

Rugal's Unused Alternate Color

Even though Rugal is not officially playable, he does have an alternate outfit color usually reserved for mirror matches. You can see it in-game by setting the address 108231 (for P1) or 108431 (for P2) to 08 to enable him and then selecting him with the B button or reaching the boss fight using his standard color. If you choose the second way, the cutscene after the last team must be skipped or the game will reset; you can also force the match by changing both addresses.

Since when did Rugal ever wore a violet suit?

Regional Differences

Careful, you'll lose an eye.

There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.
  • Attacks that would cause the opponent to bleed in the Japanese release have been replaced with much less violent flashes of color in the US release.

  • Mai's comically bouncy breasts have very little if any bounce to them in the US release.
