Uploads

Please use the UploadWizard for uploading multiple files as uploading 30 files at a time is both time consuming and spams the IRC channel. -Einstein95 (talk) 08:48, 28 August 2014 (EDT)

Got it. I'll use it next time. Rightman (talk) 09:00, 28 August 2014 (EDT)

Are you aware of this fnaf sound-graphics dump?

http://s.rtag.me/freddy/ --Hiccup (talk) 15:58, 13 November 2014 (EST)

I actually was aware on Thursday, but I never got around to fixing up the FNAF 2 page due to this trip I was on. Rightman (talk) 05:44, 15 November 2014 (EST)

Spyro 2

Thanks for helping me a bit on the new page. I have one question about your edit, though. Where did you get that release date for the NA release?--Spiritix (talk) 23:02, 23 November 2014 (EST)

It was actually a mistake on my part. Rightman (talk) 23:03, 23 November 2014 (EST)

Atari 2600 screenshots

Hi there, when you took screenshots like the Blue Print titlescreen, could you take then using Stella and the NTSC version of the ROM? I noticed that the ones you have been uploading are the parent sets in MESS. -Einstein95 (talk) 06:12, 21 December 2014 (EST)

Thanks for the info.

Really helped out on the version (of Sister Location) with unknown fixes. Good job. :) --Luigim1 (talk) 16:05, 11 October 2016 (EDT)

Thanks. Rightman (talk) 20:27, 11 October 2016 (EDT)

CDI

Hey! I saw you've been adding CDI content. Is there a good CDI emulator now? Last time I used one, it didn't play too many games. Zelda's Adventure was unplayable, and Hotel Mario had FMV issues. ReyVGM (talk) 16:55, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Not really... I have to juggle between three or four emulators to get (almost) all of the CD-i's titles to work. Here's a rundown of what I use:
  • MESSUI 0.217 (Dec. 25, 2019 build): My go-to emulator for regular titles, as many of them play well on it. Faces and Wand work fine (though you have to hold down Button 1 to get cutscenes to play) and so does Hotel, but Adventure freezes when it tries to do a screen transition.
  • MESSUI 0.228 (Jan. 27, 2021 build): A revised version of the previous emulator. Many non-DVC games still work fine, but Faces and Wand now have massive slowdown in the stages. Adventure plays almost perfectly (only having some infrequent pauses when menuing) and Hotel's about the same. You'll need a batch file to play games on both this emulator and the next one.
  • TinyCDI: Nowadays, I don't use this emulator unless I have a non-DVC title that won't play in both MESSUIs (I.E. Axis & Allies) or need to do some cheat code/prototype comparison stuff with Zelda's Adventure. Said game works fine on TinyCDI, but it freezes whenever Zelda dies.
(With the emulators above, you'll have to turn your games' .bin/.iso files into .chd files for them to boot properly. There is a tutorial on YouTube on how to emulate Zelda's Adventure, which includes a segment on how to convert the files. The BIOSes are much easier to deal with; just put the cdi910/cdimono1 ZIP files in the rom folders. You might need to add some files from cdi910 to cdimono1 when using MESSUI 0.228.)
  • CDiemu v0.5.3 beta4: What I use for every DVC title, as it's the only emulator that supports the expansion. Accuracy varies title-to-title; the CapDisc games, for example, work fine but have the FMV videos play too fast. Unfortunately, it's payware apart from some timed demos and only uses the mouse for controls. Don't put the BIOS ZIP files into the rom folder; put the .rom files from cdimono1 in it instead.
There is also a new, promising CD-i emulator called CeDImu that's being actively developed, but it's in a early state and can't load any discs. Rightman (talk) 18:29, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
Awesome detailed answer, I'll be sure to check out those emulators. I'm particularly interested in capturing the ending for Zelda's Adventure and Hotel Mario. Thanks! ReyVGM (talk) 19:43, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

Zelda's Adventure

Thanks for all your hard work on that obscure....well, not "gem," but you know. By the way, where'd you get the names "Purano Village" for the South Gubasha area and "Plain of Donora" for the area that the sign seems to think is the Forest of Albon? I couldn't find them in the CD-i Interactief magazine (which I have referenced extensively myself for my own projects) nor on any dialogue, used or otherwise. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 08:29, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

First off, mad respect for making a new, independent TLoZ wiki. I've fantasized about making one for a while (or, at the very least, one that focuses on the CD-i games), but didn't have the resources, time, or willpower to do it.
As for your inquiry, Purano Village comes from concept art of the area that was posted online in 2021. The Plain of Donora is also an official name; I remember seeing it in either the UK or Netherlands CD-i magazine, but I can't remember which issue it was from. Really wish I did! Rightman (talk) 09:05, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
Found it! It's in the CD-interactief magazine, in the last page of the September/October 1998 issue. The Plain of Donora is listed as one of the locations that you travel to when going to the Shrine of Air. Given what is known about Tolemac's regions, the position the Plain's at in the list, and the fact that the Albon sign appears to be arrow-shaped and pointing towards the swamp, it's hard to place the Plain of Donora anywhere but the barren area with Kron and the sign.
Also, I should probably let you know that most of the unnamed Faces of Evil/Wand of Gamelon NPCs have official names. I was looking through the games' pages and noticed that, except for Kulvan, they were missing. Rightman (talk) 09:54, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
Yah, I'm gonna get to them, I recall "Mikoto" for the hungry girl. (Feel free to join, I'd love help for CD-i content!) Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:35, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
Hi there! Long time lurker, but this is my first post on here. I just wanted to give my sincere thanks and admiration for your work. The CDi games are some real forgotten history, especially Zelda's Adventure. This is by far the most extremely in-depth piece I've ever read on these games, and maybe even on any Zelda game at all. Your extensive, hyper-detailed work here is a real treat. Thanks for doing all this. I had a fun time diving down this rabbithole :) Chateau LonLon (talk) 03:46, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

Bakugan Battle Trainer

I saw your big edit on the game, and I was wondering if you could help rip the rest of the files. DeadSkullzJr deleted their account, unfortunately, so it seems they will not add the rest of the information
