Specifically: Is "beatmania for WonderSwan DUEL" a multiplayer link thing?

Konami's only title for the WonderSwan was an all-time low-resolution port of beatmania, mostly featuring songs from beatmania 3rdMIX. It is known for its impressive audio quality, one of the most advanced for the console.

Mode Select

Stored at offset 0xF80060 of the game's ROM is a graphically richer, although unused variant of the mode select background graphic. The Normal and Practice slots also seem to be swapped in this version.
