The FamicomBox is an official kiosk unit created in collaboration with Nintendo and JTB Traveland Transportation Co., Ltd. The kiosk came with 10 cartridges, with additional 5-pack cartridges being sold separately. Despite the Famicom branding, the kiosk uses various Nintendo Entertainment System branding and accessories which include the unique black cartridges being the format used for the kiosk rather than retail Famicom cartridges. Sharp would release a variant called the FamicomStation which is nearly identical to the standard kiosk. Nintendo would later release a follow-up a few years later called the Super Famicom Box.
