Hmmm...
To do:
Check if the unused maps are in the Xbox 360 version (they're not in the PS3), and elaborate/look for the early assets seen on some of them. Notable examples include the tyrannosaur seen in some maps which has a different look and simply ragdolls when it dies.

Your name: Joseph Turok

Your objective: survive and kill the dinosaurs (and some guy's army)

Unused Video

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Check to see if there any other videos in the files that are never seen or visible during gameplay.
  • Explain where this can be found on the disc.

Unused/Test Maps

There are a number of unused maps on the PC version. To access most of them, you will have to copy the TurokGame\Baked and/or TurokGame\Live\Content\Maps folders into TurokGame\Content\Maps, then delete any .u files that were moved there so the game can run. The maps can then be loaded from the in-game console afterwards.

Many of these maps use a simple grey checker texture on the floor and walls.

L02_06

This map is an early version of the first jungle level. It does have collision, but you will be spawned under the ground, and will have to use the ghost command to see the rest of the level. The map is also extremely dark, seems to have several glitched effects, and contains some old game assets.

Lv02_htest/Lv02_c

Lv02_htest is a simple but large map comprised of untextured mountains of varying sizes. Lv02_c is a similar situation, but with a tiled grass texture on everything. Both maps have an A-posing model to represent where the player spawns.

bt/bomb_test

A small room filled with slopes, stairs, walls, and colorful lighting. There is a structure that the player can get bombs for, which can be planted in certain spots.

Another map called coop is exactly the same as this map, but without the bomb structure.

maul/kam_dinomaulroom

A decently sized room split into four sections. Two sections are empty, one has two small dinosaurs, and one has a larger dinosaur. Killing one of them will spawn another immediately.

L22_01

A small black room with a T-posing human with a checkered texture and a purple-checkered rectangle with "DOOR" written on it.

LV_15_WB

A mostly untextured room with trees, a very spiky ceiling, and a prototype dinosaur model. The structure of the room implies it may have been an early version of a jungle section.

ColorCubes

A dark room filled with dead trees and some low-res sprites of switches.

SinkingBodies

A simple floor with a handful of dinosaurs. They will eventually walk off the map if the player doesn't interact with them.

DoorTest/kam_doortest

Two rooms with small house-like buildings made to test various doors.

BurnableActorTest

A small green room with a dinosaur and unarmed enemy soldier.

KaneBattle

A small room with some strange lighting and, as the name implied, Kane standing there, menacingly.

HumanAICover

A fortress-like area with a few enemy soldiers.

BurningTest2

A small room with a Tyrannosaur and some tall trees to protect you from it.

DoorTest-PathNodes

Similar to DoorTest, but featuring an unarmed enemy soldier. Likely meant to test AI's ability to go through doors.

gazmigrationtest

A room with two walls in the middle and two small floating black boxes on the outer sides of these walls.

ken_turrets

A small room with four pillars and two turrets. Using a turret will leave you unable to move without jumping, and using a turret again in this state will cause the game to crash.

RaptorTest

A small pit in a jungle, and one of the more complete maps in this list. The rocks or foliage can be walked through, and there are no raptors or any NPCs period, despite the name.
